This highly cross-functional role serves as a central hub for synthesizing market, customer, clinical, operational, financial, technology, regulatory, and competitive inputs into a clear, actionable product roadmap that guides organizational priorities and execution. The Product Management team is accountable for defining customer-centric portfolio direction, establishing data-driven prioritization and investment recommendations, monitoring product performance, and driving alignment with Sales, Market Access, R&D, Operations, Technology, Medical Affairs, Finance, Legal, and Executive Leadership. The Sr. Product Manager will ensure the portfolio is strategically differentiated, financially sustainable, operationally feasible, easy to sell internally, and easy for customers to understand externally.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Product Roadmap Strategy & Governance: Maintain a clear, well-structured product roadmap that serves as the single source of truth for rare disease product direction, execution priorities, and cross-functional alignment.
· Market & Customer Insight: Incorporate structured external inputs from customers, providers, commercial teams, competition, market access, technology trends, clinical landscape, and regulatory environment to identify market opportunities, unmet needs, and portfolio gaps. Synthesize these insights into the product roadmap.
· Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner closely with Sales, Market Access, R&D, Operations, Technology, Medical Affairs, Finance, Legal, Quality, and Client Services, to align roadmap priorities, execution requirements, resourcing, and stakeholder expectations.
· Prioritization & Business Case Development: Develop data-supported business cases and ROI justification including strategic fit, business impact, feasibility, revenue, profitability, market share, competitive advantage, technical
complexity, operational readiness, regulatory considerations, and resource requirements.
· Product Definition: Own Market Requirements Documents (MRDs), define target segments, value propositions, use cases, product features, workflows, user experience requirements, pricing inputs, and clinical, financial, adoption, operational, and quality success metrics.
· Product Performance Management: Monitor performance of on-market products, including volume, revenue, ASP, profitability, adoption, operational performance, quality indicators, and sustainability; proactively identify risks, trends and underperformance and drive corrective action plans with clear owners, timelines, and measurable progress tracking.
· Product Improvements & Lifecycle Management: Manage enhancements, iterations, releases, and lifecycle improvements for existing products; drive continuous improvement based on customer feedback, product performance, market changes, operational needs, reimbursement dynamics, and post-launch results.
· Commercialization Support: Support go-to-market readiness by partnering with Sales, Marketing, Client Services, Medical Affairs, Laboratory Operations, Clinical Operations, and other stakeholders on launch planning, training, materials, workflows, messaging, sales enablement, and commercial execution.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
· Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, genetics, bioinformatics, healthcare, business, or a related field.
· 10 years of experience in product management in diagnostics, genomics, or related field
· Experience with lifecycle management of on-market products and commercial product launches
· Experience leading cross-functional teams or initiatives in a clinical, healthcare, laboratory, or regulated environment.
· Strong ability to translate clinical, market, customer, and partner insights into practical product requirements, prioritized execution plans, and measurable business outcomes.
· Excellent communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
· Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Preferred:
· Advanced degree such as MS, PhD, MBA, or genetic counseling degree.
· Experience with whole exome or whole genome sequencing or related technologies
· Experience with geneticists/genetic counselors, neurologists, and/or developmental pediatricians preferred

· Communication & Cross-Functional Leadership: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex clinical, technical, market, and business requirements for executive, commercial, operational, and technical audiences; demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority and secure stakeholder alignment.
· Prioritization & Execution Discipline: Ability to prioritize initiatives using data, customer feedback, strategic fit, business impact, feasibility, and resource considerations; demonstrated capability to drive roadmap execution, product delivery, launch readiness, and continuous improvement with clear ownership and accountability.
· Customer & Market Insight: Deep customer orientation with the ability to gather and synthesize insights from providers, customers, sales teams, market access, competitive intelligence, user research, and performance data to anticipate needs and ensure products deliver meaningful clinical and business value.
· Analytical & Data-Driven Decision Making: Strong analytical skills and comfort using product, financial, commercial, operational, quality, and customer metrics to assess performance, identify risks and opportunities, develop business cases, and guide product decisions.
· Adaptability & Continuous Learning: Curiosity, flexibility, and commitment to continuous improvement in response to evolving customer expectations, reimbursement dynamics, regulatory requirements, emerging technologies, and changes in the rare disease genetic testing market.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
· Location: Remote with approximately quarterly travel required.
· Work is primarily performed in a professional office or remote work environment using standard computer and communication equipment.
· Requires prolonged periods of sitting, computer use, virtual meetings, reading, writing, and verbal communication.
· May require occasional travel for customer, partner, conference, or internal business meetings.
· May require interaction with clinical laboratory, commercial, operational, and quality teams; any laboratory access must comply with applicable company policies, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements.
