As our Broadcast Solutions Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in making that ambition happen for our customers by designing, integrating, and maintaining the broadcast infrastructure that keeps our services stable, resilient, and consistently brilliant. From live contribution through to production, playout, and distribution, your work will help ensure the moments that matter reach Kiwis smoothly, reliably, and at the standard that sets Sky apart.

  • Designing, integrating, and maintaining Sky’s broadcast systems across contribution, production, playout, and distribution environments
  • Producing and maintaining detailed, auditable system designs aligned to architecture, security, and operational standards
  • Installing, configuring, commissioning, and documenting broadcast systems before handover to operations
  • Executing changes safely within governance, minimising risk to live broadcast services
  • Troubleshooting incidents with Support Engineers and vendors, driving fixes that reduce repeat issues
  • Acting as a broadcast engineering subject matter expert and applying current knowledge of SDI/IP broadcast technologies, standards, and industry trends
  • Hands-on broadcast engineering experience in live or mission-critical environments
  • Working knowledge of SDI/IP broadcast systems and IP networking fundamentals
  • Knowledge of modern broadcast standards and protocols, including ST 2110, NMOS, and SRT
  • Experience operating within incident, change, disaster recovery, and business continuity disciplines
  • Strong documentation skills and the ability to collaborate across technical teams
  • Experience with APIs, orchestration platforms, automation frameworks, and control protocols would be advantageous
  • Scripting, automation, version control, and experience in software-defined, virtualised, cloud-connected, or IP-based broadcast environments would be beneficial
