Network Engineer III

Target Salary: $95K to $105K

LOCATION: DLIFLC, 1759 Lewis Road, Monterey, CA 93944

Position Overview:

Responsibilities include wired and wireless network performance monitoring, network optimization, testing, IT project management, implementation of network security controls, advanced troubleshooting and analyzing all elements of the network infrastructure.

Job Duties:

  • Monitor and analyze all network traffic.
  • Generate reports, create diagrams via Microsoft Visio, and propose solutions to optimize the network.
  • Architect and develop deployment and test plans for wire and wireless network related solutions.
  • Attend and conduct meetings with other departments for integrated solutions.
  • Speak to and translate complex technical terminology to higher level authorities.
  • Interface, work with, and assist customers and peers with customer services best practices.
  • Perform after hours maintenance windows.
  • Ability to lift and implement devices at 30 lbs.

Job Requirements:

  • Educational requirements include an AA/AS Degree in a related discipline from an accredited college or university or three years of related experience.
  • Experience with deployment and administration of routing, switching, wireless, firewall technologies, load balancing, and protocols
  • Experience with Ruckus/Brocade routing/switching devices and operating systems.
  • Experience with Extreme Networks routing/switching devices and operating systems.
  • Experience with Aruba wireless devices and operating systems.
  • Experience with Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager devices and operating systems
  • Experience with Palo Alto Networks NGFW, Panorama, and operating systems.
  • Experience with VMware NSX-T or infrastructure as code datacenter deployments.
  • Experience with Ciena DWDM devices and operating systems.
  • Ability to interface with multiple monitoring systems and establish reports

Required to Start Qualifications:

  • IAT Level II Certification is required to Start (CCNA Security, CSA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP) Certification
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification or equivalent network vendor certificate. 7 years documented experience in addition to previously stated experience requirements can be used as equivalent for certification.
  • A NACLC Public Trust Clearance is required to Start.
