Job Summary
Iron Mountain is seeking a skilled Associate Network Engineer to join our Global Network Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex network communication infrastructures to support seamless global connectivity. You will join a dedicated, collaborative global team that values operational reliability, innovation, and high-impact technical support.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
- Configure, maintain, and optimize global customer network infrastructure, including routers, firewalls, switches, and load balancers, to deliver reliable systems performance and uptime.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve network issues ranging from major outages to daily escalations, while managing carrier maintenance and routine preventative measures like Simple Network Management Protocol monitoring and software upgrades.
- Collaborate with internal teams, global customers, and external vendors to create comprehensive network documentation, manage Domain Name System, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, and email systems, and support a twenty-four-seven on-call rotation to ensure continuous enterprise operations.
What You’ll Bring
The ideal candidate will have:
- 2+ years of experience maintaining complex, mission-critical, mixed-vendor network infrastructure with a proven track record of delivering complex projects with minimal supervision.
- Strong knowledge of enterprise Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol architectures, Access Control Lists, Internet Protocol Addressing/Subnetting, Local Area Network technologies, and routing protocols including Hot Standby Router Protocol, Virtual Local Area Networks, Virtual Private Networks, Multiprotocol Label Switching, Border Gateway Protocol, Intermediate System to Intermediate System, and Open Shortest Path First.
- Proven ability in network fault reporting, traffic analysis, and system troubleshooting across multi-platform environments including VMware, Windows, Linux, and specialized network monitoring platforms.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a technical field (or equivalent work experience), with a Cisco Certified Network Associate or Cisco Certified Network Professional certification preferred.
