We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst / Business Systems Analyst – Data with 12+ years of experience to support enterprise data, cloud, and business transformation initiatives. The role requires strong expertise in business analysis, data requirements, data modeling, data quality, KPI definition, stakeholder management, and requirements documentation, along with a solid understanding of the Microsoft Azure data ecosystem.

The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating complex business needs into clear, actionable functional and data requirements. Strong experience with Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Databricks, SQL, data pipelines, and modern data platforms is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a Business Systems Analyst supporting enterprise data and cloud initiatives.
  • Gather, analyze, document, and validate business and data requirements.
  • Translate business needs into detailed functional specifications, data requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Define requirements for Azure-based data platforms, including ADLS, Databricks, and related technologies.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and architects to define data inputs, transformations, outputs, dependencies, and data flows.
  • Support the design and evolution of data models across raw, curated, and consumption layers.
  • Define data quality requirements, validation rules, business rules, metadata, lineage, and governance requirements.
  • Establish clear definitions for KPIs, metrics, dashboards, and business reporting.
  • Use SQL for data analysis, validation, reconciliation, and requirements clarification.
  • Analyze business processes and data flows to identify gaps, dependencies, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure data requirements address relevant compliance, regulatory, audit, and control-tracking needs.
  • Prepare and maintain BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows, data requirements, data flow diagrams, and acceptance criteria.
  • Facilitate discussions between business, product, data, architecture, and technology stakeholders.
  • Support requirements clarification throughout development, testing, implementation, and deployment.
  • Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and stakeholder discussions.
  • Support UAT by validating business requirements, data scenarios, and expected outcomes.
  • Maintain requirements traceability and ensure documentation remains accurate throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Communicate complex data and business concepts effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • 12+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Business Systems Analysis, or related enterprise technology roles, with significant experience in data-driven initiatives.
  • Strong experience working as a Business Analyst / Business Systems Analyst on enterprise data platforms and transformation programs.
  • Strong understanding of Azure data technologies, particularly ADLS and Databricks.
  • Strong SQL skills for data analysis, validation, reconciliation, and requirement clarification.
  • Good understanding of data pipelines, data ingestion, transformation, data flows, data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouse architectures.
  • Experience defining and supporting data models across raw, curated, and consumption layers.
  • Strong understanding of data quality, validation, metadata, lineage, governance, and data controls.
  • Experience defining business rules and requirements related to compliance, auditability, and regulatory controls.
  • Proven ability to define requirements for KPIs, metrics, reporting, dashboards, and analytics.
  • Strong requirements gathering, process analysis, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience creating BRDs, FRDs, user stories, process flows, data flow diagrams, and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and end-to-end delivery lifecycles.
  • Excellent analytical, written, verbal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Experience supporting enterprise data modernization or cloud migration initiatives is an advantage.
  • Exposure to Azure Databricks, lakehouse architecture, data governance, metadata management, and BI/reporting platforms is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with distributed teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Engineering, Data/Analytics, or a related discipline.
