Business Analyst – Tax Systems Location: Columbia, SC Hybrid, up to 2 remote days per week with no back-to-back remote days allowed.

Project Scope:
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst – Tax Systems to support business operations by analyzing collection processes, tax system data, and business requirements. The ideal candidate will work closely with business teams, leadership, and IT teams to identify process improvements, troubleshoot system issues, and recommend enhancements to integrated tax systems.
This role requires strong knowledge of tax data, business analysis, process improvement, reporting, and experience working with government systems.
Key Responsibilities:
· Analyze business needs related to tax collection operations and enforcement processes.
· Evaluate and interpret tax system data to support successful collection activities.
· Analyze and recommend enhancements to integrated tax systems and reporting capabilities.
· Troubleshoot collection data issues and recommend effective solutions.
· Develop recommendations for new reports and system improvements.
· Collaborate with business users, IT teams, management, and stakeholders to resolve issues.
· Conduct detailed account reviews using integrated tax systems.
· Support process improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for operational efficiency.
· Provide knowledge sharing and training related to tax data and system usage.
· Maintain awareness of current computer systems and complete required IT training.
· Follow information security guidelines and promote secure data practices.
· Mentor and support team members while assisting with business solutions.
· Manage multiple priorities, tasks, and projects while providing status updates to stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience:
· 5+ years of Business Analyst experience.
· 3+ years of experience with process improvement initiatives.
· 3+ years of experience working with integrated tax systems.
· 3+ years of experience training team members on tax data and system processes.
· 3+ years of state government experience.
· 3+ years of experience with SharePoint.
· Experience analyzing and recommending enhancements to integrated systems.
· Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work with business users, management, and IT teams effectively.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Skills:
· Experience with GENTAX systems.
· Experience supporting tax administration or collection operations.
· Experience creating reports and improving business processes.
· Leadership and supervisory experience.
Education
