This is an opportunity for a senior Java developer to help evolve established SaaS products while contributing to modernization and continuous technical improvement.You will work across legacy code evolution, refactoring, architecture improvements, and the delivery of new capabilities.The role combines hands-on development with technical ownership, code quality, testing, and solution design.You will collaborate closely with engineering and product teams in a business-domain-driven environment with a strong financial context.As a senior member of the team, you will also support other developers through technical guidance, code reviews, and collaborative engineering practices.The environment encourages experimentation with AI-powered development tools to improve productivity and engineering outcomes.This is a fully remote role suited to someone who values autonomy, technical excellence, continuous learning, and meaningful product impact.

Accountabilities:

• Evolve established Java systems by contributing to refactoring initiatives, architectural improvements, and the delivery of new features.

• Perform corrective and evolutionary maintenance while continuously improving code quality, readability, maintainability, and technical robustness.

• Participate in defining technical solutions collaboratively with engineering and product teams, considering both technical requirements and business-domain needs.

• Take ownership of delivery quality, covering implementation, automated testing, code reviews, validation, and continuous improvement.

• Work autonomously as a technical reference within the team, supporting the technical development of other engineers through guidance and knowledge sharing.

• Apply engineering practices such as pair programming, code review, refactoring, and continuous improvement.

• Leverage AI-powered tools and resources to support software development, improve productivity, and explore new approaches to engineering.

• Develop a strong understanding of business rules and the financial context in which the product operates.

• Demonstrate curiosity about emerging technologies and explore how Artificial Intelligence can transform processes, experiences, and business outcomes.

Requirements:

• Solid professional experience with Java development, including experience working with Java 6, 8, and 11.

• Proven experience developing and evolving Java applications based on monolithic architectures.

• Hands-on experience with Spring for building APIs and backend solutions.

• Experience with unit and integration testing, particularly using JUnit.

• Strong command of software engineering best practices, including Clean Code, SOLID, sound design principles, and systematic refactoring.

• Ability to read, understand, troubleshoot, and refactor complex existing codebases.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the autonomy expected from a senior-level developer.

• Collaborative mindset and willingness to contribute through pair programming, code reviews, technical discussions, and mentoring.

• Nice to have: basic knowledge of React and familiarity with Spec-Driven Development (SDD).

• Nice to have: knowledge of or interest in Artificial Intelligence technologies, tools, applications, and concepts.
