Senior Java Developer

About our Client You will be working for a prominent player in the banking industry, helping shape the future of digital business banking across the Nordic region. The client builds and delivers innovative web and mobile banking solutions used by customers in Denmark, Finland, Sweden, and Norway, continuously evolving the next generation of scalable digital banking services.

The Role & Expectations We are looking for a Senior Java Developer who embraces a blended capability role. Beyond standard development tasks, you will be expected to champion and drive backend testing within your agile team. You should be comfortable working in a modern, large-scale banking platform and proactively using AI-powered tools to optimize your daily workflow.

What you will do

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services that power digital banking platforms.
  • Drive backend testing activities (performance, unit, integration, and API testing) ensuring highly reliable and scalable solutions.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools as a standard part of your daily development, testing, and delivery practices.
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Contribute to the full product lifecycle—from technical design and implementation to continuous improvement and operational support.
  • Work collaboratively within a cross-functional agile team based in a vibrant Warsaw hub.

What we expect (Must-haves)

  • Strong experience as a Backend Developer (Regular to Senior level).
  • Solid proficiency in Java 21+, REST APIs, and microservices architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Boot 3.4, Spring WebFlux, and Hibernate.
  • Experience in test automation (JUnit5, Cucumber, WireMock).
  • Working knowledge of Git, Maven, Jenkins, Oracle DB/DB2/SQL, and Splunk.
  • Strong understanding of SOLID principles (knowledge of reactive programming is a major advantage).
  • Mandatory experience in utilizing AI tools in software development.
  • Fluent English (essential for daily communication in an international environment).

Nice-to-haves

  • Frontend development experience (JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular 2+).
  • Familiarity with testing tools and frameworks like Playwright, qTest, and Gherkin.
  • ISTQB Foundation certification.

What is offered

  • Salary: Up to 150 PLN/h net + VAT.
  • Contract: B2B agreement
  • Work model: Hybrid (3 days per week in the Warsaw office).
