Job Description Summary
GE Vernova Electrification Software | Bucharest, Romania (Hybrid)
Responsible for test creation, testing large modules or components, and independently designing features, sets of features, or entire feature areas. The role also contributes to the immediate team and to other teams across the business, leads software quality engineering discussions, and mentors junior quality engineers.

Our projects are executed in an international environment, involving software development and implementation across multiple sites and countries. Therefore, both technical skills and interpersonal skills — including written and verbal communication, self-organization, reporting, autonomy, decision-making, and English language proficiency — are of utmost importance.
Responsibilities
- Create test cases, validation test plans, acceptance test plans, and testing strategies.
- Create and manage testing documentation in Jira, Confluence, or qTest.
- Prepare testing environments and tools, as well as software components, including the final product (build configuration, smoke tests, and baseline analysis).
- Perform functional and non-functional testing.
- Create and execute test plans and present test results.
- Execute regression tests and initiate corrective actions when needed.
- Collaborate with developers and business analysts as needed to resolve problems, identify the root causes of product defects, and report and track issues in Jira.
- Provide feedback and recommendations on software usability and functionality.
- Manage test environments.
- Continuously look for opportunities for self-training and share knowledge and expertise with the team.
- Availability for business travel.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Experience with different types of testing, including Functional, Regression, Smoke, and Sanity testing.
- Experience with functional and non-functional testing.
- Experience with bug tracking and reporting systems, such as Jira.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and provide solutions.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to openly present and communicate ideas.
- Knowledge of different operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and Unix.
- Basic experience working with relational databases and SQL/PLSQL.
- Experience with different work methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall.
- Experience testing UI and Web UI.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Experience with test automation tools such as Selenium, HP Quick Test Professional, or equivalent applications.
- Java technology background, with the ability and/or familiarity to code in Core Java.
- Ability to write scripts in Bash/KSH, Python, or Groovy.
- Experience using Continuous Integration (CI) tools such as Jenkins or TeamCity.
