Description:
We are seeking a practical and solutions-focused Electrical Test & Commissioning Engineer to support the testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and optimisation of industrial equipment and automated systems. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands-on work, fault diagnosis, and ensuring complex machinery performs safely, reliably, and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical testing, commissioning, and validation of industrial equipment and control systems.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, automation, and system performance issues.
- Support machine start-up, performance verification, and acceptance testing activities.
- Perform fault-finding on electrical systems, control panels, sensors, drives, and associated equipment.
- Analyse machine performance and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Assist with root cause investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, service, and project teams to deliver effective technical solutions.
- Ensure all activities are completed in accordance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate technical records, reports, and test documentation.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience working with industrial machinery, automation systems, or electrically controlled equipment, including testing, commissioning, fault-finding, and troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment, industrial control systems, electrical hardware, drives, motors, sensors, and instrumentation.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve electrical, control, and automation issues while supporting system performance, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Understanding of machine operation, system integration, and industrial communication networks.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Working knowledge of safety, quality, and regulatory requirements within industrial environments.
- Experience within manufacturing, process industries, automation, or special-purpose machinery environments would be advantageous.
