Position: Senior PHP CMS Developer

Experience: 8+ Years

Work Mode: Remote

Working Hours: 5:00 PM – 2:00 AM IST (US overlap)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior PHP CMS Developer with 8+ years of hands-on experience in PHP-based CMS development. The ideal candidate should have strong experience building, customizing, and maintaining CMS-driven websites and web applications. The candidate should be comfortable working on complex web applications, developing custom CMS functionality, integrating third-party APIs, troubleshooting existing systems, and writing clean, scalable, and maintainable code.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, customize, and maintain PHP-based CMS websites and web applications.
  • Build scalable, secure, and high-performance backend solutions using PHP.
  • Develop custom CMS modules, features, templates, and integrations.
  • Work with Twig templating for dynamic website and CMS development.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, optimize, and enhance existing applications.
  • Integrate third-party APIs and external services.
  • Work with MySQL and other relational databases and optimize queries where required.
  • Collaborate with US-based clients, designers, developers, and project managers.
  • Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices.
  • Ensure responsive, cross-browser, and high-quality implementations.
  • Maintain technical documentation and contribute to improving development processes.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects and deliver high-quality solutions independently.

Required Skills

  • 8+ years of professional experience in PHP-based CMS development.
  • Strong hands-on experience with PHP and PHP-based CMS platforms.
  • Strong experience with Twig templating
  • Excellent knowledge of PHP, MySQL, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience developing custom CMS functionality, modules, templates, and integrations.
  • Strong understanding of MVC architecture and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
  • Experience with REST APIs and third-party integrations.
  • Good understanding of Git/version control systems.
  • Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with existing/legacy codebases and improving application performance.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with international/US-based clients is preferred.

Good to Have

  • Hands-on experience with Craft CMS.
  • Experience with Symfony framework/components and architecture.
  • Experience with Composer and modern PHP development practices.
  • Knowledge of AWS or other cloud environments.
  • Understanding of performance optimization, caching, and web security best practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD and modern development workflows.
