About the role
Reporting to the Data and Integrations Manager, this role will assist with a greenfield Data Platform project for the IT Application Engineering team. We're looking for a Data Engineer with AWS data stack experience to join one other Data Engineer on this project, with a mix of technical depth and business perspective.
You'll work closely with a broad range of stakeholders across business units, including IT Managers, Operations, Commercial, Marketing and external partners.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain scalable, high-performing data pipelines and platforms
- Develop automated data ingestion, transformation and loading processes
- Optimise pipelines for performance, reliability and cost efficiency
- Implement monitoring, alerting and lifecycle management for data workflows
- Contribute to data architecture and modelling aligned with business requirements
- Ensure compliance with I-MED security policies and governance frameworks
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Diagnose and resolve data pipeline issues and drive continuous improvement
- Contribute to shared engineering standards, documentation and reusable components
About you
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field
- Experience with the Amazon Web Services (AWS) data stack
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Strong understanding of data ingestion patterns, modelling and platform architectures
- Desirable experience working with healthcare data and integration standards (HL7, DICOM)
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices and DevOps principles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
