Job Description:

We are seeking a Data Quality & Governance Analyst to define, implement, monitor, and improve data-quality controls that make FAA enterprise data accurate, complete, consistent, timely, and trusted. This role supports the FAA Chief Data Office Enterprise Information & Data Integration Program and works with cross-functional technical and mission teams to deliver secure, reliable, and well-documented outcomes.

Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
  • This position is remote, candidate must reside in one of the following states: AL, AZ, DC, FL, GA, ID, MD, MS, NJ, NC, OK, OH, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WV

• Occasional travel may be required. Candidates should be able to attend meetings at FAA facilities and other locations throughout the Continental United States (CONUS) as required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information management systems, or a similar field
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated ability to perform work closely related to the assigned tasks and work products.
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work with sensitive, confidential, or regulated information and follow FAA and federal policies and procedures.
  • Ability to use FAA-issued accounts and Government-designated collaboration and task-tracking systems as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • FAA or federal data-governance experience.
  • Experience with Collibra or comparable governance and data-quality tooling.
  • Experience with enterprise data platforms, metadata, lineage, data catalogs, and regulated data environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Profile datasets and define data-quality dimensions, rules, thresholds, validation logic, scorecards, and monitoring approaches aligned with FAA business and governance requirements.
  • Translate business rules into repeatable SQL-based and governance-platform checks for accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness, conformity, and integrity.
  • Monitor data-quality results across EDP, EDR, ADX, FAA1, PURE, DGC, and related ingestion and reporting environments.
  • Investigate anomalies and failed controls, perform root-cause analysis, document impacts, and coordinate corrective actions with data stewards, owners, engineers, and platform teams.
  • Support quality scoring, issue tracking, remediation status, trend reporting, dashboards, metadata-quality enhancement, and leadership reporting.
  • Validate schema alignment, reconciliation, lineage, tagging, catalog registration, and data transformations during onboarding, integration, modernization, and release activities.
  • Configure, test, and operationalize data-quality capabilities within the Data Governance Center and ensure use cases and metrics align with FAA governance needs.
  • Document quality definitions, testing methods, findings, decisions, and improvement recommendations for technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Promote upstream process improvements, stewardship accountability, and sustainable controls that reduce recurring data defects.
