Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering with at least 7 years of experience. Hands-on experience with spaceflight hardware and proficiency in CAD or analysis software is required.

Full description

As a Senior Engineering Projects Manager, you bring a mix of mechanical engineering / mechatronics expertise with experience managing a small team’s tasks, schedules and budget. You will lead by example through the mentorship of less senior engineers across mechanical, electrical, and systems disciplines, in addition to performing design or analysis in support of Dcubed USA technical programs.

This role is a mix between acting as an engineering subject matter expert, team lead, and project manager.

What you will do:

  • Provide management of a multi-functional technical team and associated projects supporting Dcubed engineering functions
  • Perform design or analysis of structures, mechanisms, or mechatronic systems dependent on your specific strengths or expertise.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and avionics a plus
  • Assist with the management of external contractors for engineering services
  • Mentor less-senior engineers on engineering and project management topics
  • Support hardware procurement including the identification, vetting, and management of new vendors supporting Dcubed engineering projects.

Must-haves:

  • Education: Bachelor's of Science in Aerospace, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Electrical Engineering with at least 7 years experience
  • Experience working on spaceflight hardware, with an emphasis on hands-on experience
  • Past project and/or team management experience
  • A passion for working with small, fast paced teams
  • A technical strength in one or more of the following areas: Mechanical Design & Drafting (CAD – Solidworks preferred), Finite Element Analysis (ANYSYS, NASTRAN, FEMAP, etc), Thermal Analysis (Thermal Desktop preferred), Mechanisms Design & Analysis, Mechatronics Systems
