About the Team

The SEEJET (Servicing, Experience Engineering Journeys & Technology) team within Nationwide Financials' Digital Servicing organization focuses on delivering end‑to‑end, high‑impact customer and financial professional journeys. SEEJET engineers work on servicing Journey such as Manage My Book of Business, Manage My Investments, Manage My Accounts and Journey Foundation work.

You will be embedded in a true cross‑functional product team, partnering closely with business leaders, CX/UX teams, Product Architects, and fellow engineers to deliver modern, scalable solutions with strong visibility and support from senior leadership.

Role Overview

SEEJET Team at Nationwide Financial is seeking a TAD professional to support the development, testing, and ongoing quality assurance of customer-facing and internal applications serving members, financial professionals, and internal associates across NationwideFinancial.com and Nationwide.com.

In this role, you will focus on Ruby conversion to Playwright and Playwright script development to enable robust automated testing across strategic servicing journeys. You will be responsible for developing and executing end-to-end and functional test scripts, validating application behavior, identifying defects, and providing testing support throughout the delivery lifecycle.

As part of the SEEJET team, you will contribute to ensuring application quality, stability, and reliability while supporting modern engineering initiatives and major journey improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Validate end-to-end customer and financial professional servicing journeys across Digital Servicing applications, with focus on quality, stability, and business outcome confidence.
  • Coordinate with upstream partners and various data sources to create and maintain test data.
  • Create test plans to be reviewed by and monitored by the business.
  • Perform risk analysis on application changes to determine a risk based test approach.
  • Partner daily with developers, product, UX, architecture, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements, identify risks early, and support fast, informed delivery decisions.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable automated test coverage and supporting test assets for modernized and legacy Digital Servicing solutions.
  • Contribute to major product launches and servicing journey modernization efforts by ensuring high-quality validation, regression readiness, and release confidence.
  • Support and improve existing services through functional testing, regression testing, defect management, and validation of production-ready behavior.
  • Help maintain a trusted, healthy automation suite and improve test data, test evidence, and validation practices across the team.
  • Use modern engineering and quality practices, including pairing, test strategy collaboration, defect triage, and continuous improvement of delivery standards.
  • Leverage Generative AI tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve test productivity, automation quality, and engineering efficiency.

Preferred Technical Experience

  • Playwright

  • Familiar with Cloud platforms (AWS and Kubernetes experience preferred)
  • Familiar with Angular

Nice‑To‑Have Experience

  • GraphQL
  • Kafka or other event‑driven architectures

Agile & DevOps Practices

  • Experience working within Agile teams
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Concourse, Harness, GitHub Actions)
  • Strong interest in automation and improving software delivery processes

Reporting Relationships: Reports to a Technology Manager/Director.

Typical Skills and Experiences:

Education: Completion of undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.

Experience: Four or more years of analysis and technology experience.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Proficiency in one or more programming language such as Java, C++, Python, JavaScript. Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle. Proven ability to tackle complex business and development problems. Ability to thrive in a team environment. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.

Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and Human Resources Business Partner.
