Graphic Designer & Production Artist: The "Maker" Role at FASTSIGNS

Design the City. Master the Craft. Own the Workflow.

Are you a designer who is tired of your work living and dying on a glowing screen? Do you crave the satisfaction of seeing your digital creations transformed into massive, physical landmarks that define your community?

We are FASTSIGNS of Coeur d’Alene, and we are launching a brand-new, state-of-the-art center. We aren't just looking for someone to "push pixels." We are looking for a Founding Graphic Designer who wants to be a "Maker"—someone who takes pride in the entire journey from a blank Adobe Illustrator artboard to a high-fidelity, finished physical product.

Why This Design Role is Different In most shops, "fast" means "chaos." In our shop, "fast" means optimized.

The "Calm" Workflow: Guided by a veteran owner with a proven track record, our design and production area is unhurried, organized, and intentional. No "I need it yesterday" surprises—just a clear, visual work board and a team that stays ahead of the curve.

• The "Maker" Experience: You won’t just be sitting at a desk. You’ll be the master of our brand-new, FASTSIGNS-exclusive Epson printer fleet and Mutoh plotters. You’ll see your work move from the screen, through the printer, and into the real world.

• A Protected Creative Space: Our sales team is trained to set realistic expectations. We know our name is FASTSIGNS, but we also know that quality takes a process. We protect your queue so you can focus on excellence.

• Mentorship & Growth: Start with a fully-paid, one-week professional training in May at our HQ in Carrollton, TX. You'll return to a shop where the owners are invested in your success and provide the tools for you to do your best work—your way.

Who You Are (The Craftsperson)

We are looking for a high-quality professional with 3–5 years of experience who values precision, integrity, and the "Maker" spirit.

• The Illustrator Pro: Adobe Illustrator is your second language. You understand paths, vectors, and how to prep files for flawless physical output.

• The Detail Fanatic: You "measure twice and cut once." You have the "Maker" mindset where you enjoy weeding vinyl, operating high-end printers, and ensuring every edge is perfect.

• The EQ Teammate: You value a calm environment. You are a curious learner who isn't afraid to ask for assistance, and you take meticulous notes to ensure a project is done right the first time.

• The Physical Creator: You find joy in the "hands-on" part of the job—whether it’s leaning over a production table to apply graphics or seeing a 50lb roll of media turn into a masterpiece.

What Success Looks Like

In your first 90 days, you will have mastered our optimized workflow and Epson/Mutoh equipment fleet. You’ll be the engine of our production area, confidently taking a client's concept and turning it into a finished, high-quality sign with minimal outside input. You’ll be a vital part of our morning huddles, helping us stay ahead of deadlines and building a reputation for excellence.

Benefits & Perks:

  • Competitive Salary + Performance Bonuses
  • Monthly Health Stipend
  • Paid Vacation & Holidays

• All-Expenses-Paid Training in Texas (if hired before May 1st)

  • Brand-New, State-of-the-Art Equipment
  • A Family-Owned, Mentor-Driven Culture
