How you'll make an impact

As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and delivering scalable data pipelines, transforming complex data into valuable business insights, and helping drive best practice across the Data Engineering team. You'll work closely with stakeholders, analysts and technical teams to build reliable and efficient data solutions while contributing to the continuous improvement of our data platform.

This role offers the opportunity to combine hands-on engineering with solution design, coaching, peer reviews and operational support within a collaborative and innovative environment.

Your usual day in the office will include:

  • Design end-to-end data pipeline solutions from concept through to implementation.
  • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and develop effective solutions.
  • Build, test and deploy robust ETL and data integration pipelines.
  • Ensure solutions align with architectural standards, governance requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct code reviews and support the development of team capability.
  • Monitor production pipelines and assist in resolving incidents and performance issues.
  • Contribute to release planning, deployment activities and continuous improvement initiatives

Your attributes

You are a motivated and proactive data professional with strong technical expertise and a passion for delivering high-quality solutions. You thrive in collaborative environments, enjoy solving complex problems and are committed to continuous improvement.  

Skills & Experience

  • Degree qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline
  • 3+ years' experience in a similar Data Engineering role. Strong experience with: PySpark and Spark SQL, Python, Databricks (including Lakeflow and AI capabilities), Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Event Hub, AWS Kinesis, SQL and PostgreSQL, Power BI, SQL Server, SSIS and SSRS  
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence and ServiceNow.
  • Knowledge of Data Warehousing, Data Lakes, Lakehouse architecture, Master Data Management and emerging AI technologies.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, prioritisation and problem-solving skills
