As a Prime Government Contractor for Government Publishing Office (GPO), we are currently searching for a talented Senior SQL Database Administrator in Washington, DC.
About the Job
This position requires creating and managing standalone SQL databases proficiently. Also, this position requires the ability to identify and triage issues, perform server maintenance, execute software installations and patching, maintain High Availability (HA) systems and execute Disaster Recovery (DR) protocols. Need to have the ability to work independently, collaborate within and across division teams, and communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management.

- Backup/Restore: Governs strategy & drills
- Patching: Sets cadence & risk controls
- Performance Tuning: Internals/optimizer/storage tuning
- High Availability (HA) / Disaster Recovery (DR): Architects multi-region DR
- Monitoring & Alerting: Define SLOs & unified taxonomy
- Security & Compliance: Owns policy & audits
- Scripting & Automation: Standards & governance
- Incident Management: Incident command & prevention
Required Skills
- U.S Citizenship
- Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in SQL.
- Professional SQL certifications required
- Experience in: SQL, SQL Server, SQL Clustering, SQL Scripting, PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL
