Full description

Are you a Business Analyst who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, solving operational challenges, and improving business systems rather than working on large-scale project delivery?

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Business Systems Analyst to join our Medical Indemnity insurance, Business Systems team at Avant. This is a unique opportunity to step into a highly business-facing role where you'll act as the key link between users, business stakeholders, vendors and technology teams to ensure critical customer platforms continue to deliver value and support day-to-day operations.

Unlike traditional project-focused BA roles, this position is centred on business system ownership, operational support, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement. You will work closely with the business to understand their needs, optimise platform performance, manage enhancements and support the successful adoption of change.

Key accountabilities:

  • Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and become a trusted advisor across key customer platforms.
  • Gather, analyse and document business requirements, process improvements and enhancement opportunities.
  • Lead workshops, impact assessments and solution discussions to support business decision-making.
  • Act as the business-facing lead for system enquiries, incidents and enhancement requests.
  • Coordinate issue resolution, root cause analysis and stakeholder communications.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance customer experience, business processes and platform utilisation.
  • Support backlog prioritisation, UAT, release planning and business readiness activities.
  • Work closely with vendors and technology teams to ensure solutions meet business needs.

Skills and experience required:

  • Strong Business Analysis experience in a BAU, operational support or business systems environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into practical solutions.
  • Strong understanding of business processes, customer systems and the software delivery lifecycle.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with CRM, insurance, membership, claims or customer service platforms will be highly regarded.

Why join Avant?

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative Business Systems team where you'll have genuine ownership and influence over the systems that support our Medical Indemnity business. You'll work closely with end users, see the direct impact of your work, and play a key role in improving business outcomes and customer experience.
