ASSYST is seeking a Database Administrator to support our client in Tallahassee, Florida (Onsite role)

The Database Administrator ensures that application and processing architectures, data dictionaries, and database schemas adhere to departmental data requirements. This role is responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and supporting database structures across multiple platforms and computing environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily operational and database administration tasks.
  • Plan, design, implement, and support database structures and relational databases.
  • Conduct database performance monitoring and tuning.
  • Perform SQL code reviews and support database activities for application enhancements and rewrites.
  • Develop and maintain technical database specifications, administration procedures, and documentation.
  • Analyze processes, workflows, and production issues in large enterprise databases to design solutions and remediate problems independently.
  • Train, mentor, and guide lower-level database analysts or technical staff.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Data Analysts to build efficient, long-term solutions following established standards.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of combined database administration experience across specified platforms.

Technical Expertise:

  • Expert proficiency in SQL Server 2012 and above.
  • Proficiency in Oracle 10g and above.
  • Experience with GIS and spatial databases.
  • Pluses: Experience with Azure SQL, AWS SQL tools, and managing ArcGIS for Server.
