Full description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial electrical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role will oversee project schedules, budgets, field coordination, procurement, client relationships, and overall project performance.

The ideal candidate has a strong background with a self-performing commercial electrical contractor and can effectively manage multiple complex projects while coordinating with field teams, general contractors, clients, and internal departments. Experience with healthcare, higher education, institutional, manufacturing, or other large-scale commercial projects is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial electrical projects from preconstruction through completion.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, manpower plans, procurement plans, and cost forecasts.
  • Monitor project financials, including labor productivity, billing, change orders, forecasting, and profitability.
  • Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, electricians, subcontractors, suppliers, and general contractors.
  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction documents.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, procurement, commissioning, closeout, and project turnover.
  • Coordinate with estimating and preconstruction teams during project handoff.
  • Work with BIM/VDC teams on constructability, coordination, and installation planning.
  • Lead project meetings and communicate progress with owners, architects, engineers, and leadership.
  • Identify project risks and resolve scheduling, budget, and field issues.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and project partners.
  • Ensure projects meet company, contractual, quality, and safety standards.
  • 5+ years of project management experience with a commercial electrical contractor.
  • Experience with a self-performing commercial electrical contractor is required.
  • Proven experience managing commercial electrical projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems, installation methods, sequencing, and field operations.
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, procurement, labor planning, forecasting, billing, and financial performance.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, contracts, and construction documents.
  • Experience working with estimating, preconstruction, and BIM/VDC teams.
  • Proficiency with construction project management software and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with healthcare, hospitals, higher education, institutional, manufacturing, or other complex commercial projects is preferred.
