Job Profile Summary

As part of the Wolters Kluwer Health team, the Senior Business Systems Analyst for Medi-Span serves as the primary Product Owner for one Pune Product Engineering team. This role acts as a liaison between Product Management and Engineering, translating business needs into clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog priorities that support successful product delivery.

Working independently with minimal guidance, the Senior Business Systems Analyst applies in-depth business systems analysis knowledge to evaluate requirements, clarify business rules, analyze impacts, and support implementation of product enhancements and operational improvements. The role partners closely with Product Management, Engineering, Technology Program Management, Quality, Content, and other stakeholders to ensure development work is aligned with business objectives and customer needs.

This role requires strong analytical skills, business systems analysis expertise, effective stakeholder communication, and the ability to translate complex business requirements into actionable technical solutions. The Senior Business Systems Analyst may lead portions of initiatives, act as a resource to colleagues, and support ongoing activities that span multiple delivery cycles.

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities

Product Owner and Agile Delivery Support

  • Own and maintain the backlog for one Pune development team.
  • Lead requirement refinement activities and support planning, prioritization, and delivery readiness across the development lifecycle.
  • Partner with Product Management to understand priorities, business objectives, customer needs, and roadmap direction.
  • Translate business requirements into implementation-ready specifications and supporting documentation.
  • Clarify requirements, business rules, and expected outcomes throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Support backlog prioritization and delivery planning based on Product direction and team capacity.
  • Escalate product, business, or prioritization decisions requiring Product Management input.

Business Systems Analysis

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of business requirements, enhancement requests, workflows, and system functionality.
  • Analyze business processes, business rules, data flows, and operational impacts to identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain documentation supporting system functionality, process flows, business rules, and acceptance criteria.
  • Evaluate impacts of proposed changes and provide recommendations for implementation approaches.
  • Analyze stakeholder feedback and operational data to support process improvements and solution enhancements.
  • Ensure requirements, specifications, business rules, and supporting documentation remain complete, accurate, and aligned throughout the delivery lifecycle.
  • Help identify customer workflow impacts, operational considerations, implementation needs, and transition activities associated with product changes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration and Delivery Support

  • Serve as a liaison between Product Management, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Content, and other business stakeholders.
  • Coordinate requirements clarification and support stakeholder alignment throughout delivery.
  • Participate in initiative planning and provide input regarding dependencies, risks, sequencing, and implementation considerations.
  • Support user acceptance testing, release readiness activities, and validation of delivered functionality against business expectations.
  • Present analysis, findings, recommendations, and status updates to stakeholders as needed.
  • Support go-to-market activities for new product capabilities, enhancements, and product changes, including documentation, stakeholder readiness, customer communication inputs, and launch planning.
  • Partner with Product Management, Marketing, Sales, Customer Experience, and other stakeholders to help ensure successful delivery and adoption of product enhancements.
  • For selected initiatives, lead development and coordination of go-to-market plans under the guidance of Product Management leadership.

Other Duties

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on requirements quality, backlog management, delivery effectiveness, and team execution.
  • Support Medi-Span priorities, initiatives, issue management activities, and special projects as business needs change.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Job Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Business Systems Analysis, Product Ownership, healthcare software, healthcare data, or related disciplines.
  • Experience serving as a liaison between business stakeholders and software development teams.
  • Experience gathering, documenting, analyzing, and translating business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, functional requirements, business rules, and related delivery artifacts.
  • Experience supporting Agile delivery teams through backlog management, refinement, planning, and implementation activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing ongoing responsibilities and priorities.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience using Jira, Confluence, or similar tools.
  • Experience supporting medication data, drug information content, clinical content, or other healthcare technology solutions.
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams across India and the United States.

Travel Requirements

This role includes up to 5% travel for internal team meetings, training activities, planning sessions, and other business needs. Travel may include both domestic and international locations, including occasional travel to the United States.
