Job Description
We are looking for a talented Java Developer to join our EQD team and contribute to the development of iPrice, a strategic application within the Smart Derivatives Platform.
Smart Derivatives is a shared platform that supports both pre-trade and post-trade client-facing applications across Equities and Structured Products businesses. As a well-established solution, it has been serving global clients for more than a decade and continues to evolve to meet growing business and technology demands.
In this role, you will work alongside experienced teams based in Lisbon and Paris, contributing to the delivery of business-critical solutions in a collaborative and international environment. You will be involved in the full software development lifecycle, helping to design, build, and maintain high-performance applications used by clients worldwide.
From a technology perspective, the platform is built primarily on Java 21+, Spring Framework, and modern development practices. Exposure to Angular, messaging technologies, and distributed architectures will be valuable assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain business-critical applications within the Smart Derivatives ecosystem.
- Deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable software solutions following industry best practices.
- Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Contribute to code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, QA engineers, and production support teams.
- Support production releases and collaborate on troubleshooting and incident resolution when required.
- Engage directly with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Provide Level 3 (L3) support and contribute to resolving complex production issues.
- Promote Agile principles and actively participate in Scrum ceremonies and team collaboration activities.
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in software development.
- Solid understanding of software development best practices and application testing methodologies.
- Experience working in Agile environments and collaborating within distributed teams.
- Ability to understand, navigate, and contribute to large and evolving codebases.
Technical Skills
Must Have
- Java 21+
- Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring Core, etc.)
- Relational Databases and SQL
- Messaging technologies (JMS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar)
- Maven
- Git
- CI/CD pipelines
- Shell scripting
Nice to Have
- Angular and/or modern frontend development experience
- JavaScript / TypeScript
- Full-stack development experience
- Experience with asynchronous and event-driven architectures
- Knowledge of software design patterns and microservices architecture
- Exposure to cloud platforms and containerized environments
Domain Knowledge (Preferred)
- Exposure to Capital Markets or Investment Banking environments.
- Understanding of Equities trading flows, Cash Equities, or Structured Products would be considered an advantage.
