The AI Product Manager, Innovation will shape and scale AI-powered products that deliver measurable business value for Manulife. This role connects business opportunities with enterprise-approved AI capabilities, ensuring solutions are customer-focused, reusable, governed, and ready to scale.
Working across business, data science, engineering, architecture, risk, privacy, security, and delivery teams, the successful candidate will define product vision, validate use cases, guide investment decisions, and move AI solutions from experimentation to enterprise adoption.
Position Responsibilities
- Define and communicate the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and success measures for AI-enabled products and services.
- Identify and validate high-value AI opportunities that improve customer, employee, or operational outcomes.
- Build business cases, value hypotheses, and prioritization recommendations based on impact, feasibility, risk, data readiness, and platform fit.
- Lead discovery activities, including market and user research, stakeholder interviews, ideation sessions, and innovation sprints.
- Translate business needs into clear product requirements, user stories, roadmaps, dependency plans, and measurable outcomes.
- Partner with Data Scientists, Agentic Engineers, UX, platform engineering, architecture, security, risk, privacy, compliance, and delivery teams throughout the product lifecycle.
- Progress solutions from proof of concept to MVP and enterprise-scale deployment using approved global AI platform capabilities, reuse patterns, and architectural guardrails.
- Ensure AI products comply with Responsible AI principles, model governance expectations, privacy and regulatory requirements, security controls, and enterprise standards.
- Define and monitor KPIs, adoption, usage, performance, customer satisfaction, and value realization; use insights to continuously improve products.
- Act as the product owner and champion for AI innovation initiatives, communicating vision, progress, risks, trade-offs, and outcomes to senior stakeholders.
- Support adoption, change management, stakeholder readiness, and enterprise-wide AI literacy across business units.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in product management, strategy, innovation, consulting, digital transformation, or AI-related roles.
- Experience leading complex, cross-functional initiatives from concept through implementation.
- Strong understanding of AI, machine learning, generative AI, agentic AI, enterprise AI platforms, data integration, API-driven architectures, and model governance concepts.
- Ability to translate business needs into product requirements, platform-ready solutions, delivery roadmaps, and measurable outcomes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience developing business cases, using data and research to inform product decisions, and measuring value realization.
- Bilingualism in English and French is an asset. For candidates based in Québec, proficiency in both languages is required to support clients across Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience launching or scaling AI-enabled products in enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with agile product development practices.
- Knowledge of LLMs, copilots, agentic systems, RAG, automation platforms, AI product architectures, reusable AI services, API integration patterns, and production monitoring.
- Experience in insurance, financial services, or another regulated industry.
- Experience working closely with Data Science, Engineering, Design, and platform teams.

Salary range is expected to be between
$86,100.00 CAD - $136,100.00 CAD
Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
