Job Description

ARHS Group, part of Accenture, is looking for a Senior Java Backend Technical Lead (m/f) to join one of our client teams onsite in Luxembourg within a European institutional environment.

In this role, you will combine hands-on backend development with technical leadership, contributing to the design, development, and evolution of business-critical applications. Working closely with architects, business analysts, QA, DevOps, and development teams, you will drive technical excellence while ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-quality software solutions.

THE WORK:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust backend applications using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Lead the technical design and implementation of new features and system enhancements.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentor Java developers within the team.
  • Perform code reviews and promote coding standards, best practices, and software quality.
  • Analyse functional and technical requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
  • Ensure the maintainability, performance, reliability, and security of backend applications.
  • Collaborate closely with Solution Architects, Business Analysts, QA Engineers, and DevOps teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to testing activities, design reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support CI/CD processes and participate in deployment and release activities.
  • Investigate and resolve complex production issues through root cause analysis and second-line support.
  • Drive technical decisions and proactively identify opportunities to improve existing solutions and development practices.

Onsite at client site: This role requires an onsite presence with our clients and partners to support project delivery and strengthen collaboration.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • At least 7 years of experience in Java backend development.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Java 17.
  • Excellent knowledge of Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
  • Solid experience with JPA, Hibernate, and SQL.
  • Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with Apache Kafka or other messaging technologies.
  • Experience with Maven, Git, and JUnit.
  • Good understanding of CI/CD practices and software delivery pipelines.
  • Experience leading technical discussions, mentoring developers, and reviewing code.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work on complex technical challenges.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).

BONUS POINTS IF YOU HAVE:

  • Experience within the financial services or banking sector.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of Liquibase.
  • Experience with SOAP Web Services.
  • Familiarity with secure, high-availability, and mission-critical enterprise applications.
