About the Role

Join Origin's Enterprise Technology, Operations & Analytics team and help transform the way our business uses data to make smarter decisions. As a Senior Developer – Power BI, you'll turn complex data into trusted, scalable data products — reports, apps, and semantic models. Working with business and technical stakeholders, you'll combine expertise in semantic modelling, DAX, and Power BI with strong design thinking and data storytelling to build reporting solutions that influence decision-making across the organisation. You'll also mentor others, drive modelling and reporting standards, and help uplift enterprise reporting capability.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI semantic models, reports, bridging data to decision gap.
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather requirements, prototype solutions, deliver reporting, training and walkthroughs that meets business needs in an Agile environment.
  • Build scalable semantic models grounded in proven data modelling approaches such as Kimball's dimensional modelling, establishing the trusted context and metadata that AI tools and agents depend on to deliver accurate, reliable insights.
  • Optimise data model and report performance, implement Row Level security (RLS) and ensure solutions align with governance, documentation and enterprise standards.
  • Champion continuous improvement by mentoring others, promoting reusable design standards and driving self-service reporting and automation.

About You

You're passionate about transforming data into engaging visual stories and enjoy collaborating with stakeholders to solve complex business problems.

You'll bring:

  • Proven experience delivering enterprise Power BI reporting and visualization solutions in complex, data-rich environments.
  • Advanced expertise in SQL, Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, DAX, Power Query (M) and semantic data modelling.
  • Strong understanding of relational data modelling and semantic model best practices, with exposure to modern data platforms such as Databricks.
  • Strong understanding of UX, visaual design and data storytelling, with the ability to create intuitive dashboards for executive and operational audiences.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and mentoring skills, with a passion for continuous improvement and modern reporting practices.
