About the Role

As a key member of Biogen Brazil’s Rare Diseases Business Unit, the Senior Product Manager – Rare Diseases will lead the development and execution of the brand strategy, translating patient, market, competitive, access, and financial insights into clear business priorities and measurable results. The role owns the integrated brand plan and works closely with Sales, Medical, Market Access, Patient Services, Regulatory, Finance, Business Intelligence, Supply, and other local, regional, and global partners.

This position requires strong strategic thinking, analytical rigor, and financial acumen. The successful candidate will be able to identify growth opportunities, build robust forecasts and business cases, prioritize investments, monitor performance, and recommend timely course corrections in a complex rare disease environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the end-to-end brand strategy and annual integrated brand plan, with clear objectives, strategic choices, initiatives, KPIs, resource requirements, and risks.
  • Translate market, patient journey, customer, competitor, access, demand, and performance data into actionable insights, strategic recommendations, and growth opportunities.
  • Own brand performance management, including demand and sales analysis, KPI dashboards, forecast assumptions, scenario planning, and regular business reviews.
  • Partner with Finance and Business Intelligence to develop accurate forecasts, budgets, business cases, and investment recommendations; track spending and evaluate initiative effectiveness and ROI.
  • Lead launch readiness and lifecycle management initiatives, ensuring disciplined planning, cross-functional alignment, risk mitigation, and execution against critical milestones.
  • Lead the cross-functional brand team, aligning stakeholders around priorities, decisions, accountabilities, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
  • Translate strategy into effective field execution in partnership with Sales, ensuring clear segmentation, targeting, customer engagement priorities, and high-quality implementation.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the rare disease patient journey and the public and private access landscape; co-create solutions that address barriers to diagnosis, treatment initiation, and continuity of care.
  • Manage projects with agility and high execution standards in a dynamic environment, while ensuring compliance with Biogen policies, applicable regulations, and ethical standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, including relevant experience in product or brand management.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop brand strategies and convert them into focused, measurable execution plans.
  • Strong analytical capability, with experience integrating multiple data sources, identifying business drivers, and communicating clear recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong financial acumen, including hands-on experience with forecasting, budgeting, P&L drivers, scenario planning, business cases, investment prioritization, and ROI assessment.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and complex projects without direct authority.
  • Experience supporting product launches and/or major lifecycle initiatives.
  • Solid understanding of the Brazilian healthcare environment and public and private market access dynamics.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, storytelling, and presentation skills, including the ability to simplify complex analyses for executive decision-making.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; confidence working with dashboards and business intelligence tools.
  • Fluency in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in rare diseases, neurology, or another high-specialty therapeutic area.
  • Experience with patient identification, diagnosis, access, and treatment initiation challenges in rare diseases.
  • Postgraduate qualification or MBA in Business, Marketing, Finance, Strategy, or a related field.
