As DevOps Engineer , you will be a hands-on Engineer either from a Development or Platform engineering background. Your work will be driven both by product feature squads but also engineering team backlogs of improvements and tech debt. Work includes -  

  • Automating deployments through CI/CD pipelines across the environments and platforms.
  • A track record of continuous improvement including challenging and developing both yourself and the team
  • Assisting with diagnosing issues with non-production and production, seeing the bigger picture and working to coordinate across various teams and disciplines (Dev, Test, networks, infrastructure, 3rd parties)
  • Being part of the on-call rota as first line callout supported by development engineers in 2nd line
  • Automating manual tasks and processes, ensuring configuration as code is put in place
  • DevSecOps: automate and integrate security testing and scanning products/processes into the CI/CD pipeline
  • Ensure proactive management of critical end—to-end workflows, continuously improving stability and resilience through close collaboration with delivery and infrastructure teams

Key Skills and Experience required

  • Experience with application support in a fast paced environment and vendor management
  • Rapid incident response to maintain continuous trading operations, turning quick fixes into robust, scalable solutions 
  • Proactive system monitoring and troubleshooting, owning reliability improvements and ensuring their successful delivery 
  • Solid track record in application deployment best practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and propose innovative solutions.
  • Must have strong technical skills in scripting, Python, PowerShell, C#, SQL or other programming languages, plus a solid understanding of Linux and strong design skills
  • Networking technologies, especially IP Multicast, IGMPv3, PIM/SSM WAN, LAN, SDN, DNS, TCP/IP
  • Cloud native, cloud enabling and cloud adjacent technologies, including large-scale Kubernetes architecture and design, SR-IOV, eBPF, containerisation, container network interfaces.
  • Compute infrastructure especially HPE Proliant, HPE Synergy, Dell PowerEdge
  • Experience in messaging systems, and experience debugging network protocols such as TCP, multicast
  • Experience in the following will be highly regarded:• Exchange and vendor certification
  • Supporting the derivatives order and trade lifecycle
  • Knowledge of Third Party Networks and EMS/OMS software vendors. (e.g., TT, NYFIX, Bloomberg, TradingScreen
  • FIX Engineering
  • How to optimize NIC, OS, BIOS and applications for low latency
  • Exchange feed connectivity
  • Security (OWASP, Security code, container scanning, password vaults) - tools such as Checkmarx, Jfrog Artifactory/Xray, Clair/Klar, CyberArk
  • [Experience in supporting market data distribution platforms such as, Real Time Market Data System (TREP,, RMDS), would be highly regarded]
  • [Experience in supporting time series frameworks such as kdb, shakti, would be highly regarded]
