Full description

We are looking for an experienced Data Analyst / Analytics Engineer to join a product team working with electricity network power forecasting.

The team develops forecasts for both local and regional electricity networks, estimating future additional power demand across areas such as residential development, transport electrification, industry, and commercial premises.

The forecasts provide important input for electricity network dimensioning, network development planning, investments and reinvestments, and customer dialogue.

The team has transitioned from Excel-based processes toward a data-driven and increasingly automated workflow, with Python and Databricks playing central roles.

Key Responsibilities

Forecasting Automation

  • Automate forecasting activities that were previously performed manually.
  • Develop efficient, maintainable, and transparent Python code.
  • Develop and maintain data-processing and forecasting workflows in Databricks.
  • Improve the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of existing forecasting processes.

Data Analysis & Methodology Development

  • Analyze large datasets, particularly customer and time-series data.
  • Investigate opportunities to improve existing forecasting methodologies.
  • Conduct both well-defined analyses and exploratory analytical work.
  • Identify patterns, trends, dependencies, and relevant insights from complex datasets.
  • Collaborate with domain experts and other technical stakeholders when developing new methodologies.

Power BI & Reporting

  • Develop new and enhance existing Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Perform data modeling and implement calculations.
  • Improve existing reporting functionality and introduce new capabilities.
  • Present complex analytical results in a clear and understandable way.

Power Forecast Updates

  • Update power forecasts for defined geographical areas.
  • Collect, validate, and process input data.
  • Communicate with municipalities, electricity-network customers, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Generate both quantitative and qualitative insights from forecasting results.
  • Prepare and present forecasting material to stakeholders.

Data Quality & Data Management

  • Investigate the availability of relevant data.
  • Collect and combine information from multiple data sources.
  • Perform data cleaning, transformation, and validation.
  • Ensure appropriate data quality, consistency, and reliability throughout the analytical process.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • A few years of professional experience in data analysis, analytics engineering, data science, or a related field.
  • Experience analyzing and manipulating large datasets / Big Data.
  • Strong experience working with customer data and/or time-series data.
  • Experience with data modeling, analysis, and reporting.
  • A few years of practical experience developing efficient, structured, and maintainable code using Python or a comparable programming language.
  • Experience working with Power BI or similar data-visualization/reporting tools.
  • Previous experience within the electricity grid, utilities, or energy industry.
  • Ability to translate analytical results into understandable insights and recommendations.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
