Key Purpose

The Business Process Analyst is responsible for driving process standardisation, governance, and continuous improvement across the business by developing and managing SOPs, process documentation, risk controls, and quality frameworks. The role ensures operational efficiency, compliance, audit readiness, and effective knowledge management through stakeholder collaboration and process optimisation initiatives

Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to

  • Develop, review, maintain, and publish SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation.
  • Manage document control standards, version control, approvals, and retention requirements.
  • Coordinate annual and periodic SOP reviews.
  • Monitor and escalate overdue reviews and approvals.
  • Ensure documentation consistency, quality, and compliance with governance requirements.
  • Facilitate process discovery and stakeholder workshops.
  • Develop and maintain BPMN-compliant process maps.
  • Conduct quality reviews and process walkthroughs.
  • Align process maps with operational procedures.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and support operational excellence initiatives.
  • Identify and assess operational risks during process reviews.
  • Maintain process and control risk registers.
  • Support internal and external audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory assessments.
  • Monitor the closure of audit findings and corrective actions.
  • Deliver SOP, governance, and process training.
  • Manage the SOP repository and knowledge management platforms i.e. SharePoint, Pinpoint and Sap jam.
  • Partner with operational teams, business leaders, SMEs, Risk, Compliance, and Audit teams.
  • Facilitate process review workshops and governance discussions.
  • Drive stakeholder buy-in and ownership of process documentation.
  • Support change management activities relating to new or updated procedures.

Education and Experience

  • Matric with Maths
  • BPMN (Business Process Model and Notation) experience
  • Advanced experience in PowerBi
  • Group Life/Risk Insurance experience.
  • 3 to 5 years working experience SOP development and management
