Job Type: Full-Time

About the Role

As a DevOps / Systems Engineer, you will drive our cloud and core system infrastructure, network reliability, and automation efforts. Working closely with the DevOps Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, security, and scalability of our AWS-based cloud environment alongside our underlying network and hardware infrastructure. This hybrid infrastructure serves thousands of customers globally, influencing the experiences of millions of people across the world.

You will bring a strong background spanning systems administration, network engineering, and modern DevOps practices. You have a passion for network architecture, firewall management, hardware troubleshooting, automation, CI/CD, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies—striving to streamline operational workflows while maintaining maximum uptime and security.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cloud Infrastructure & Kubernetes: Design, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure and production Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability and cost optimization.
  • Automation & CI/CD: Develop, maintain, and optimize Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery and systems provisioning.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices across network devices, firewalls, cloud services, and containerized environments.
  • Incident Response & Monitoring: Monitor overall system health, identify performance bottlenecks, and serve as an escalation point for production, hardware, and network outages.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with developer teams and technical stakeholders to improve core infrastructure operational standards, systems tooling, and developer experience.
  • Network & Systems Administration: Design, configure, and maintain local and cloud networking environments, including VPCs, subnets, VPNs, routing protocols, and firewall rules to ensure secure, high-speed connectivity.
  • Hardware & Infrastructure Support: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware failure, server degradation, and physical or virtual connectivity issues.

Requirements

  • Cloud & Containers: Strong expertise in AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, VPC, Lambda) and hands-on experience managing production Kubernetes clusters.
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency with IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • CI/CD & Scripting: Solid experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages.
  • Monitoring & Observability: Experience with system monitoring, logging, and alerting stacks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK).
  • Systems & Network Engineering: Proven experience in systems administration, network management, and network security protocols.
  • Networking & Firewalls: Hands-on experience configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, and cloud network architectures (AWS VPC, NAT gateways, Security Groups).
  • Hardware Troubleshooting: Demonstrated ability to diagnose and fix server, storage, and peripheral hardware issues.
  • Problem Solving: Excellent analytical skills to troubleshoot complex system-level and network-level incidents in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years of proven demonstrable industry experience.

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience with Kafka for real-time data streaming and event-driven architectures.
  • Knowledge of spatial data processing frameworks.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., AWS Certified / Solutions Architect, Cisco CCNA/CCNP) or equivalent experience of minimum 3 years.
