Job Description

What is the opportunity?

As Sr. Manager, Data Product and AI Platform, you will collaborate closely with the Director, AI and Technology Strategy, TEO, to build and scale TEO's Data & AI Platform as a reusable enterprise capability. The AI and Technology Strategy team holds primary accountability for driving the adoption and value creation of data and AI across TEO, in partnership with RBC's IT groups, including Global Functions IT, Payment IT, Borealis, and Lumina.

In this role, you will serve as the platform owner for TEO's data and AI capabilities, establishing trusted data products, scalable data foundations, and reusable AI services that accelerate adoption across the enterprise. You will establish governed, accessible data foundations that support AI readiness and self-service consumption, leveraging deep expertise in data engineering, data architecture, data governance, and platform product management.

By working across business, technology, data, and AI teams, you will transform fragmented data collection into unified, trusted data products that enhance operational efficiencies, enable faster AI delivery, and unlock measurable business value across TEO and the enterprise.

What will you do?

  • Own data as a product — establish reusable, trusted data products in partnership with OPE and other business clients; define data product standards and ensure quality and accessibility
  • Build scalable data foundations — design and implement data ingestion, integration, storage, access, quality, and discoverability capabilities that serve as the backbone for enterprise AI
  • Enable AI at scale — provide the data infrastructure and platform capabilities needed to develop, deploy, and scale AI use cases with reduced friction and faster time-to-value
  • Drive reuse and self-service — reduce fragmented data collection by enabling teams to discover and consume data from a centralized, governed platform
  • Manage the platform roadmap — prioritize data and platform capabilities based on business demand, AI use case requirements, and measurable impact
  • Establish data governance and standards — define architecture principles, data quality standards, metadata management, and technical guardrails for data and AI solutions
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture and Technology — ensure the platform aligns with enterprise standards and operational governance without duplicating EA responsibilities; collaborate with RBC's AI teams for architectural consistency

What do you need to succeed?

Must have:

  • 5+ years in data engineering, platform engineering, or data management with deep understanding of enterprise data architecture and AI/ML fundamentals
  • Proven experience designing and scaling large-scale enterprise data platforms in complex environments
  • Strong knowledge of data architecture patterns, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP), APIs, and data platforms
  • Strong communication skills to translate technical solutions into business outcomes and drive organizational alignment
  • Experience with data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks
  • Degree in data engineering, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent work experience in data-intensive environments

Nice to have:

  • Experience in financial shared services, payment and trade, and cash service operations
  • Hands-on experience with data warehousing, data lakes, and modern data stacks
  • Experience working directly with business and operations teams in banking
  • Experience with data product management and design thinking
  • Prior exposure to RBC enterprise data platforms or financial services
  • Experience building or leading data engineering and data science teams
  • Familiarity with AI/ML model development and data requirements for ML pipelines

What’s in it for you?

We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper. We care about each other, reaching our potential, making a difference to our communities, and achieving success that is mutual.

  • A comprehensive Total Rewards Program including bonuses and flexible benefits, competitive compensation, commissions, and stock where applicable
  • Leaders who support your development through coaching and managing opportunities
  • Opportunity to grow, learn and build strong leadership skills
  • Ability to make a difference and lasting impact for both RBC and the community
  • Work in a dynamic, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team
  • Opportunities to do challenging work and grow your technical literacy
  • Broad exposure and opportunity to collaborate with many teams across the organization
