Candidates must hold a degree or diploma in Mechanical or Production Engineering with 12 to 17 years of experience in automotive manufacturing. Strong proficiency in manufacturing processes, engineering software like AutoCAD, and SAP is required, along with leadership capabilities.

Full description

Responsibilities & Key Deliverables

  • Work out Manufacturing Capacity calculations for green field, brown field projects, new models to estimate TAKT, no. of shifts, no. of stations, manpower, space etc.
  • Implement manufacturing strategy, goals, and objectives to achieve the business targets by working along with manufacturing teams effectively and efficiently
  • Identify & implement capacity augmentation projects based on demand through De-bottlenecking, Layout modification and methods improvement
  • Implement World Class Lean operations and processes, and other advanced engineering and manufacturing methods & systems
  • Budget preparation for CKD/SKD assembly plants projects & support for Business Case Preparation
  • Plan, utilize & monitor all capital & revenue expenditures
  • Define, Design, Develop, implement EFTG’s for manufacturing, handling, quality, transportation, and storage requirements for existing and new products
  • Co-ordination with suppliers, experts, consultant etc. for EFTG’s design, development, trials, prove out etc.
  • Identify, implement, monitor continuous improvements in the capacity, productivity, process, quality, systems, and product to achieve productivity increase, quality improvements, cost/cycle time & lead time reduction
  • Implementation of Processes, Systems, Change Management, Line Balancing & establish define parameters.
  • Carry out periodic critical Process audits at manufacturing locations
  • Define & validate process flow charts, process sheets, SOP’s etc. for manufacturing operations, quality resolution.
  • Develop & Implement SOP’s for various manufacturing quality, audits, EFTG’s & calibration etc.
  • Establish & ensure implementation of work standards, quality systems, documentation and those are maintained to appropriate engineering controls

Long Description

  • Work along with local engineering teams to manage and implement man, machine, method, material efficiency and quality with new technology, techniques, processes, technology for transformation
  • Productivity improvement through MUDA elimination, Kaizen Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging company data to drive Business Solutions
  • Partner with the Product Engineering teams to improve design for manufacturability, in-corporate suggestions for mistake proofing, productivity & safety etc.

Functional Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing process i.e. assembly, paint processes, equipment, facilities, tooling, packaging
  • Knowledge of engineering drawings, statistical tools & techniques
  • AutoCAD/FactoryCAD proficiency
  • Techno-commercial skill
  • MS Office - Microsoft Excel / Power Point / MS project
  • Knowledge of SAP 4.7

Experience

12 - 15 Years for BE / 15 - 17 Years for Diploma

In Automotive Manufacturing with focus on Process & manufacturing Engineering of automobile products, parts with awareness of latest manufacturing technologies, systems, EFTG’s, manufacturing processes, low cost automation etc

Industry Preferred

Tractor, Heavy Machinery or Farm Equipment
