The Role
The Workday Finance Analyst supports the Finance function through developing financial reports, accounting process support, financial systems governance, and continuous improvement of the Workday Financial Management platform.
This role acts as a bridge between Finance, Accounting, and IT, ensuring the integrity of financial data, strengthening internal controls, and enhancing reporting and analytics capabilities. The position contributes to finance transformation initiatives and supports the organization’s evolving financial reporting and governance needs.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analytics
- Develop, maintain, and enhance financial reporting within Workday.
- Translate accounting and business requirements into scalable financial reports, dashboards, and data models.
- Support Finance leadership with ad-hoc reporting, data analysis, and performance insights.
- Ensure consistency and reliability of financial data used for internal decision-making.
Financial Transformation Projects
- Lead and support finance initiatives that leverage Workday to improve financial processes and reporting capabilities.
- Participate in the design, configuration, and enhancement of Workday Financials in collaboration with Finance stakeholders.
- Evaluate business requirements and recommend system and process improvements aligned with finance strategy.
- Support ERP-related activities for acquisitions, integrations, or organizational changes.
Accounting & Period Close Support
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities within Workday Financials.
- Assist accounting teams in ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial data and reporting outputs.
- Identify opportunities to streamline close processes and reduce manual work through system automation.
- Support the maintenance of financial reporting hierarchies and attributes aligned to accounting requirements.
Governance, Risk & Internal Controls
- Maintain governance over financial data, system configuration, and business process controls within Workday.
- Execute validation reporting and monitoring activities to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and compliance.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests related to financial systems, reporting, and controls.
- Contribute to documentation and continuous improvement of financial processes and system governance practices.
Release Management & System Testing
- Coordinate and execute testing of bi-annual Workday releases for Finance.
- Assess the impact of new functionality on financial processes, reporting, and controls.
- Partner with stakeholders to implement enhancements that improve financial operations.
Stakeholder Support & Enablement
- Provide functional support to Finance users, troubleshooting system and reporting issues.
- Develop user documentation and deliver training to new Finance users and super-users.
- Act as a liaison between Finance and IT to align system capabilities with accounting and reporting needs.
What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)
- 1-3 years of work experience required, preferably with administration of financial accounting systems
- Must have relevant education in Business/Finance or IT
- Ability to work with complex systems and a strong understanding of system processes and configurations
- Sharp problem-solving skills and eager to solve issues
- Must be able to manage efficiently in a high-pressure environment
- Have attention to detail, and ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work in a team and with colleagues across different departments
- Experience with Workday ERP is an asset
- Flexibility to work additional hours as dictated by business needs

- Successful delivery of finance-related system enhancements and projects.
- Accuracy and reliability of financial and management reports produced from Workday.
- Reduction in manual adjustments, reconciliations, and reporting errors.
- Timely delivery of scheduled and ad-hoc financial reports to stakeholders.
- Improvement in accessibility and usability of financial data for decision-making.
- Maintenance of strong documentation and adherence to system governance practices.
- Timely and complete execution of bi-annual Workday release testing.
