Position Overview
Are you a SAP professional who thrives on solving complex business challenges and driving continuous improvement? Join FortisBC as a SAP Analyst – Finance and play a key role in shaping the systems and processes that support our financial systems and find ways to improve our financial processes.
In this influential role, you'll collaborate with business leaders, process owners, and technology teams to design, implement, and optimize financial SAP solutions that enhance efficiency, strengthen system integrity, and deliver value to our customers. From leading configuration and enhancement initiatives to supporting strategic projects and emerging technologies, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while expanding your expertise in a dynamic enterprise environment.

In this role, you will:
- Support the Finance Department in day-to-day tasks and month-end closing.
- Analyze existing processes and recommend improvements.
- Implement and configure SAP solutions to streamline processes and system enhancements.
- Gain a strong understanding of our financial processes while looking for ways to improve them.
- Support ongoing and upcoming projects including the upcoming S/4 HANA conversion.
- Lead functional and technical activities for SAP related projects.
- Engage in general ERP updates and improvements.
- Discuss agreements with software vendors and guide external contractors.
What it takes:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration or a related discipline from a recognized program plus four (4) to seven (7) years’ experience.
- A professional accounting designation CPA or equivalent training is preferred.
- Strong knowledge in accounting processes and practices.
- Understanding of financial processes (Billing, Collections, Dunning (BRF an asset), General Ledger, Payments and EDI processing, Batch Job Handling).
- Incredible analytical skills and a great knack for project management.
- Experience in supporting SAP System FICO and/or FICA.
- Experience configuring SAP Systems GL/AP/AR/AA.
- S/4 HANA knowledge is an asset.
In this role, you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program, enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week), subject to business or operational needs.
