About the Role:

The Financial Analyst is a critical role on the Finance Operations team and will have a direct impact to the financial health of Grocery Outlet, Inc. and the Independent Operators (“IOs”) who own and operate our Grocery Outlet retail locations. The Financial Analyst will interact frequently with the IOs and the many departments who work directly with our IOs, including Operations, Marketing, Strategy, and Training. This role will report to the Manager of Finance Operations.

Responsibilities Include:

Assist in the oversight of Grocery Outlet’s subsidy program for underperforming IOs:

  • Coach and support 20+ IOs in the program to support sales and margin growth through monthly calls and reports
  • Collaborate with Operations and other teams to provide a unified support network for IOs
  • Create monthly Operator Health presentations on the program for Senior Executives
  • Assist in developing and maintaining Operations Reporting

Validate, track, and report on IO-reported financial information:

  • Track and audit IO-reported financial information, including follow up with IOs for corrections
  • Provide a monthly reporting package on IO financial health/profitability to Senior Executives
  • Create exception reporting on key performance indicators to assess, communicate, and assist with projects to improve the financial health of IOs

Other responsibilities:

  • Conduct cash flow reviews with IOs concerned about their financial health
  • Complete ad-hoc analyses and other requests by key partners
  • Provide back up support as needed in the absence of other team members

About the Pay:

  • Salary Range: $90,000 Annually

  • Final compensation will be determined based upon experience and skills and may vary based on location.

About You:

  • A. or B.S. Degree.
  • 1-3+ years of accounting or finance experience and/or relevant experience in the grocery or retail field
  • Experience creating Excel models; SQL is a plus
  • Knowledge of financial statements and accounting concepts
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly communicate results and implications of analyses in both verbal and written forms
  • Resourceful and able to research complex problems and recommend solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage multiple projects with broad workload to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
