Role Summary

As Product Manager – Payments, you will work with the Botim Business Product Executive to define the vision and strategy for how Botim For Business enables customers to accept payments.

You will own the end-to-end payment-acceptance portfolio, including in-store experiences and payment-processing capabilities—from proposition and launch through adoption, performance and scale.

This role requires a strong combination of customer understanding, commercial judgment and payments expertise. You will lead new payment propositions from discovery through launch while continuously improving the experience and performance of products already in market.

Responsibilities

  • Own the strategy, roadmap and performance of Botim For Business payment-acceptance products.
  • Work with the Botim Business Product Executive to identify customer needs, market opportunities and areas of differentiation.
  • Lead new payment propositions from discovery and validation through launch and iteration.
  • Translate customer, commercial and operational needs into clear product priorities.
  • Balance short-term delivery with the longer-term development of the payments portfolio.
  • Own the end-to-end experience through which businesses start accepting and managing payments.
  • Develop simple, reliable in-store payment experiences for merchants and their customers.
  • Improve merchant onboarding, activation, transaction management, refunds and servicing.
  • Ensure merchants have clear visibility of transaction status, fees and settlement timelines.
  • Use merchant insight and product data to improve activation, adoption, usage and retention.
  • Own the product capabilities required to process payments reliably and at scale.
  • Shape processor and partner capabilities around customer experience, reliability, scalability and commercial objectives.
  • Define product requirements across authorization, capture, routing, settlement, refunds and reconciliation.
  • Work with Engineering and external partners to deliver resilient and scalable integrations.
  • Improve visibility, controls and exception handling across the payment lifecycle.
  • Define and track KPIs including activation, payment volume, authorization rate, transaction success, settlement performance and retention.
  • Monitor performance across payment channels, processors and partners.
  • Use data to improve reliability, transaction routing, customer experience and unit economics.
  • Understand the cost and revenue drivers of the payments portfolio and use them to inform product decisions.
  • Identify and lead improvements where customer, operational or commercial performance falls below expectations.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, Design, Data, Commercial, Finance, Operations and Customer Support.
  • Work with Risk, Compliance and Legal to meet regulatory, scheme and internal-control requirements.
  • Collaborate with Operations on settlement, reconciliation, refunds, disputes and exception management.
  • Manage relationships and delivery dependencies with processors and other external partners.
  • Build stakeholder alignment around priorities, trade-offs and measurable outcomes.
  • Ensure products are operationally ready and appropriately controlled before launch.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6–10 years of product management experience, preferably in payments, fintech, acquiring or merchant services.
  • A strong track record of building and scaling payment-acceptance or merchant-payment products.
  • Experience working with payment processors, gateways, acquirers or payment-orchestration platforms.
  • Experience with in-store, point-of-sale or other merchant-acceptance products.
  • Strong understanding of authorization, capture, routing, settlement, refunds, reconciliation and disputes.
  • Ability to operate across customer experience, technical infrastructure, commercial performance and operational processes.
  • Experience delivering products in a regulated environment.
  • Strong analytical, commercial and product judgment.
  • Excellent stakeholder-management and cross-functional leadership skills.
