Spark or Pyspark & Scala & Snowflake/ Databrick Developer

Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and operate scalable backend systems for data ingestion, processing, validation, and reporting. The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering expertise with effective use of AI-powered development tools to improve productivity, quality, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable backend services, data pipelines, and APIs
• Leverage AI tools for development, testing, debugging, documentation, and productivity improvements
• Drive adoption of responsible AI-assisted software development practices
• Write high-quality, testable, and reliable code
• Design fault-tolerant, observable, and maintainable systems
• Own solutions end-to-end from design through operations
• Implement data validation, reconciliation, and audit capabilities
• Build and support CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and operational excellence
• Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices
• Collaborate with product, analytics, and data teams

Skills Required

• Strong experience in Scala or Python
• Spark/PySpark and distributed systems expertise
• Experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks.
• Strong SQL and relational database knowledge
• Proficiency with AI development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot,      or similar
• Understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, AI agents, and responsible AI practices is desirable
• Strong testing, system design, and backend development skills
• Experience building APIs, data pipelines, and high-throughput systems
• Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), CI/CD, and containerisation platforms like Docker, K8.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with equivalent experience
