Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Radar Analyst to support verification, validation, and accreditation (VV&A) activities associated with Missile Defense System (MDS) modeling and simulation (M&S). The candidate will be supporting MDA/SEQV Systems Verification, which has been designated the MDA M&S agent, with a particular emphasis on application of radar expertise
Role responsibilities
- Develop and conduct sensitivity studies to assess radar performance characteristics within the scope of MDA M&S
- Develop data analysis code to assess HWIL/Digital Models against their requirements and determine their suitability for stated intended uses in MDS simulations
- Research technical papers on models and identify data pertinent to model VV&A
- Collaborate with counterparts from other stakeholder agencies, such as software developers and accreditation agents, to establish adequate V&V evidence and correct modeling issues
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- US citizenship and a secret level security clearance is required.
- BS and/or MS in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science discipline and 7+ years of relevant experience
- Expert working knowledge of radar fundamentals; experience with environmental perturbations that affect radars, such as refraction, atmospheric absorption, scintillation, and sky noise is desirable
- Familiarity with MDA radar LRIDs (logical record indicators)
- Understanding of radar discrimination methodology, especially with respect to wideband features
- Experience with radar debris mitigation logic
- Knowledge of signal processing techniques is a plus
