Job Description

Overview

The Project Controls Manager is responsible for supporting the successful delivery of engineering and EPCM while contributing to the continuous improvement of the Project Controls function. This role will be assigned directly to projects and support the functional organization, providing leadership in cost control, planning and scheduling, forecasting, reporting, risk management, project governance, staff development, and process improvement. The position works closely with Project Managers, Project Directors, functional leaders, and project controls professionals to ensure consistent project delivery and operational excellence.

Your role

Project Delivery:

  • Lead integrated project controls activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain project controls plans, cost forecasts, schedules, and performance reports.
  • Support Project Managers in delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Monitor project performance and identify risks, trends, and opportunities.
  • Support change management, progress measurement, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Facilitate project close-out and lessons learned activities.

Functional Leadership:

  • Support the implementation of Project Controls standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to project controls personnel.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, and employee development.
  • Drive continuous improvement and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Support implementation and optimization of digital tools such as One ERP, EcoSys, Primavera P6, and Power BI.
  • Promote consistency of project controls practices across projects and regions.

Success Measures:

  • Successful support of project delivery objectives.
  • Effective leadership and development of project controls personnel, with accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Consistent application of project controls governance and standards.
  • Contribution to operational excellence, digital transformation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in Project Controls within engineering, mining, industrial, energy, or infrastructure projects.

Strong experience in:

  • Cost Control
  • Planning & Scheduling
  • Forecasting
  • Risk Management
  • Change Management
  • Project Reporting
  • Experience leading or supporting multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Bilingual French and English.

Preferred :

  • PMP, PSP, CCP, EVP, or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with Primavera P6, Oracle, EcoSys, and/or Power BI.
  • Experience in process improvement or digital transformation initiatives.
