Full description

Ready to help shape the future of the M&S supply chain?

Join us as a Senior Project Manager in our Fashion, Home and Beauty Supply Chain & Logistics team, leading high-impact, cross-functional projects that transform how product and packaging move from global factories through to our customers. This role is all about improving speed to market, reducing unnecessary handling, rework, cost and environmental impact, and making sure inventory reaches the right place, in the right quantity and format, at the right time.

Working across Buying, Merchandising, Commercial Operations, Product, Sourcing, Planning, Packaging, Freight, Technology, Retail and Logistics teams, this role will bridge commercial product development, global logistics and packaging innovation. From shaping supply chain capability and launch readiness to modelling network impacts, resetting e-commerce and channel-ready packaging, and establishing better visibility across the network, the focus will be on turning complex ideas into practical, measurable change.

The successful candidate will bring structure, pace and assurance to a fast-moving transformation environment, managing milestones, risks, dependencies, reporting and stakeholder alignment while ensuring new standards, operating procedures and feedback loops are embedded into business-as-usual. Every project will be different, but the ambition is consistent: deliver tangible improvements in cost, service, efficiency and end-to-end flow, helping build a simpler, smarter and more resilient M&S supply chain.

NB: The role will be based out of one of our Logistics hubs, Bradford, Castle Donington, Welham Green or our Waterside Support Centre dependent on the successful candidate’s location. This role will involve regular travel to sites across the country.

What you’ll do

Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Lead complex upstream and end-to-end Supply Chain & Logistics change initiatives, including product flow, source-to-network design, channel expansion, fulfilment readiness and foundational transformation projects that improve cost, service, efficiency and speed to market
  • Drive launch readiness for new products, channels and propositions, co-ordinating suppliers, packaging, freight, fulfilment operations and cross-functional teams so activity lands well and supports successful product launches, category introductions and channel developments
  • Deliver key end-to-end supply chain capabilities, from forecast focus, inventory frameworks, lead-time reduction and supply planning through to improved store visibility, e-commerce-ready packaging and solutions that support upstream stock flow and supplier capacity planning
  • Model, evaluate and communicate the end-to-end impact of proposed changes, identifying trade-offs across operational, financial, customer and sustainability goals and collaborating with subject matter experts to simulate impacts before implementation
  • Maintain disciplined delivery control across milestones, plans, actions, risks, issues, dependencies, reporting and governance, escalating where needed and embedding new standards, processes, compliance and lessons learned so change is sustained after implementation.

Who you are

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Tangible experience in a Project Management role within a large, complex supply chain, logistics, retail or operational delivery environment, supporting large-scale transformation and managing multiple priorities across interconnected workstreams
  • Strong project governance capability, including milestone planning, RAID management, document control, benefits realisation, assumptions tracking and delivery methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall, ideally supported by a PRINCE2, APM or equivalent Project Management qualification
  • Advanced analytical and reporting capability, with strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience creating clear dashboards, trackers and executive-ready reporting packs that support assurance, decision-making and performance monitoring
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and co-ordination skills, with the confidence to engage at all levels and align diverse teams across Commercial, Product, Sourcing, Planning, Packaging, Freight, Technology and Logistics
  • A curious, resilient and detail-focused mindset, with the ability to operate in ambiguity, challenge and interpret data, drive follow-up and accountability, and embed sustainable change into business-as-usual through process, compliance, reporting and continuous improvement.

What’s in it for you?

Working at M&S means being part of something bigger - helping to deliver quality, value and service to millions of customers every day. We’re inclusive, fast-moving and always evolving, with a strong sense of purpose and a focus on doing the right thing.
