This role focuses on building and maintaining AWS-based data pipelines, SQL-driven transformations, and QuickSight dashboards — contributing directly to a growing portfolio of data integrations and BI initiatives.

Job Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Build, test, and maintain data pipelines using AWS Lambda, Glue, and Step Functions.
  • Write and maintain SQL queries, views, and transformations against Athena, S3 Tables, and SQL Server.
  • Develop and support QuickSight dashboards and datasets for business stakeholders.
  • Assist in designing and maintaining ELT workflows that land data into S3-based data lakes and S3 Tables.
  • Monitor pipeline health and data availability using CloudWatch alarms, logs, and metrics.
  • Support containerized workloads and scheduled jobs running on ECS.
  • Participate in code reviews and follow best practices for data quality, security, and performance.
  • Document data flows, pipeline logic, and dashboard definitions.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and senior engineers to translate reporting needs into data solutions.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience or equivalent project/academic experience.
  • Strong SQL skills — writing queries, views, and transformations (SQL Server, Athena, or similar).
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services: S3, Lambda, Glue, Athena, CloudWatch.
  • Familiarity with AWS Step Functions or similar orchestration tools.
  • Experience with Python for data processing and automation scripting.
  • Exposure to data lake concepts, S3-based storage patterns, and basic data modeling.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT concepts and job orchestration.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience building or maintaining QuickSight dashboards and datasets.
  • Familiarity with ECS for containerized data workloads.
  • Exposure to S3 Tables or Apache Iceberg table formats.
  • Basic knowledge of AWS IAM, VPC, and security best practices.
  • Experience with REST/SOAP API integrations.
  • Fundamental understanding of healthcare or business operations data.
  • Introductory knowledge of Spark or distributed data processing.

Support & Growth

This role works closely with the Lead Data Engineer and joins a small, high-output team supporting 20+ active data workstreams across integrations, outbound feeds, and business intelligence. Responsibilities grow steadily as skills, confidence, and domain knowledge develop with a clear path toward owning end-to-end pipeline and dashboard delivery.
