The Group Financial Reporting team is responsible for producing the consolidated financial results of the Sky group and for the reporting of financials to our US parent company, Comcast. The team also advises on financial accounting matters and the control environment underpinning the production of financial results. We are currently involved in projects focused on standardising processes, automating reporting, cleansing ERP data and supporting accounting and reporting change management for key group initiatives.
You’ll support the production of Sky Group’s consolidated financial results and help drive standardisation across the territories and segments. Working with finance teams across the business, you’ll analyse financial processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and support automation where possible.
What you’ll do:
- Assist with the production and analysis of the group monthly consolidated financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyse monthly and quarterly submissions / disclosures for internal audiences and for our US parent company
- Communicate regularly with local finance teams to deal with any queries and ensure that results can be produced accurately and on time
- Manage the integrity of the group consolidation process through close liaison with finance teams across the group
- Ensure compliance with internal governance and controls, ensuring key controls are operating effectively
- Look for opportunities to standardise and improve reporting processes through systems and automation
- Provide group accounting support for major transactions and structural changes, including assessing consolidation, deconsolidation, reporting and disclosure impacts.
Essential Criteria:
- CA/ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with a strong knowledge of accounting and financial processes.
- Ability to investigate complex accounting and reporting matters in detail, develop a clear understanding of the underlying facts, and apply sound judgement to reach appropriate conclusions.
- Looking for better ways of doing things and proactively taking ownership to see things through
- An ability to work independently within a highly controlled environment
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and manage deadlines in a fast-paced reporting environment.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively and build relationships with finance and non-finance stakeholders
- Takes ownership for the quality of their work, applying strong attention to detail and effective self-review to ensure accurate, reliable outputs.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience working within a Group reporting environment.
- Experience working with SAP, SAP BI and/or OneStream reporting tools.
- Experience developing workflows in automation tools such as Data360
