Java Backend/Consultant Specialist

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Consultant Specialist.

In this role, you will:

• Partner with Business and IT stakeholders to deliver required back-end and front-end system enhancements for CTB project releases.

• Take ownership of end-to-end feature delivery, from requirements through to production deployment.

• Analyse requirements, design solutions, and develop and implement IT changes that meet business needs.

• Ensure mandatory SIT and UAT are completed and formally signed off prior to production deployment.

• Maintain high-quality deliverables in line with HSBC standards, controls, and engineering best practices.

• Diagnose and resolve issues using application logs and strong debugging/troubleshooting skills.

• Provide production support and deliver timely defect fixes and minor enhancements in production.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Good understanding of application design pattern and how to apply them in real-world solutions

• Hands-on experience with Sprint framework, JPA/Hibernate, front-end JSF and build scalable enterprise application

• Solid understanding of message-driven architecture, particular with IBM MQ

• Hands-on experience in Java 8, collection framework programming

• Solid skill on DevOps processes and Agile methodologies, CI/CD tools such as Confluence, Jira, GCP Jenkins and version control GITHUB

• Good knowledge Apache Tomcat configuration. Good knowledge of G3 deployment solution

• Open-minded, reliable and independent, Enthusiastic and self-motivated with excellent time management skills and strong initiative

• Able to work independently and effectively under pressure and strong problem-solving skills

• Experience in monitoring tools like Geneos, Control-m and Rundeck would be an advantage

• Understanding HSBC API standard and security requirement is a plus. Familiar with development IDE and build tool like Intellij, Maven
