Full description

The Junior Automation Business Architect supports the design, development, implementation, and optimization of automation solutions that enhance operational efficiency and business processes across the organization. Working closely with the Operational Design & Automation Manager, this role contributes to the analysis of business requirements, process optimization, workflow automation, and technical solution delivery while ensuring compliance with institutional standards and best practices.

The role partners with business users, citizen developers, technical teams, and operational stakeholders to identify automation opportunities, support solution implementation, maintain technical documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. The position works hybrid and reports to Oriental Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Apply automation development lifecycle methodologies, including solution design, analysis, process mapping, configuration, testing, implementation, monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automation workflows.
  • Analyze business and user requirements to identify opportunities for automation and implement solutions that improve operational efficiency and process effectiveness.
  • Support the development, deployment, and maintenance of automation solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives, technical requirements, and performance standards.
  • Collaborate with operational, technical, and business teams to design, test, configure, implement, and support short- and long-term automation initiatives.
  • Ensure changes and enhancements are properly integrated into existing automation solutions and production environments.
  • Assist in the resolution of technical issues and support ongoing maintenance of automation platforms, applications, and related technologies.
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including effort estimates, release notes, workflow diagrams, testing results, and project artifacts required by organizational policies.
  • Ensure automation deliverables comply with quality standards, Agile practices, IT governance requirements, SOX controls, and other applicable regulations.
  • Support process modeling, workflow documentation, risk identification, and analysis of operational ecosystems, data relationships, and system interdependencies.
  • Leverage automation technologies such as Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Artificial Intelligence (AI), process mining, and related platforms to support operational improvements.
  • Provide project updates to management and stakeholders while supporting performance reporting, KPI monitoring, and measurement of automation outcomes.
  • Stay current on automation technologies, methodologies, and industry trends, contributing recommendations for continuous improvement and future automation opportunities.
  • Participate in training, workshops, and professional development activities to enhance technical, analytical, and business process capabilities.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

 MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field required.
  • One (1)+ year(s) of experience in automation, business process improvement, systems analysis, application development, business architecture, or related disciplines required.
  • Minimum education and experience requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training, certifications, and relevant experience.
  • Working knowledge of automation technologies, application architecture concepts, operational systems, and enterprise technology environments.
  • Knowledge of programming concepts, coding standards, software testing methodologies, quality assurance practices, and code review processes.
  • Experience supporting Agile delivery methodologies and familiarity with Agile frameworks and practices preferred.
  • Experience with APIs, web services, system integrations, process automation frameworks, and workflow technologies preferred.
  • Experience modeling business and technical processes using process mapping, workflow documentation, or related methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both: English and Spanish, with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences at all levels of the organization required.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and contribute to automation, technology, and business improvement initiatives.
