Job Description:

The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for the successful design, execution, monitoring, controlling and management of specific construction project deliverables. Working in support of Project Managers to complete assigned construction scopes and project team including Project Coordinators, Engineers and field team. Ensure project deliverables and specifics align with and support engineering, quality, and control requirements.

What You Will Do:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Support in the estimate and finalization of budgets and contract price 
  • Negotiate, close and manage cost-effective subcontract and material purchases 
  • Developing, tracking, and maintaining project schedules; 
  • Study job specifications to determine appropriate construction methods and ensure progress aligns with those methods and timing; 
  • Reviewing critical path, and quickly adapting or accelerating projects to meet deadlines; 
  • Reporting, and updating stakeholders of project schedule; 
  • Complete required tendering process and oversee contract administrator;  
  • Assist in the overall planning and defining of project scope for all subcontractors, and employees; 
  • Project resource allocation and relationship management of assigned internal and external resources;  
  • Regular project documentation, communication and reporting; 
  • Cost estimating, and budget development in collaboration with stakeholders; 
  • Effective identification and management of Engineering controls to ensure optimization and efficiency; 
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential issues, and devise contingency plans if required; 
  • Ensure project is built on budget, on schedule and on drawing specifications; 
  • Prepare, adjust and complete job close out procedures.

​What You Bring:

  • 3+ years of experience as Project Engineer
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Design or related field an asset or equivalent foreign degree or education and experience
  • Direct work experience in a project coordination capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution 
  • Experience overseeing multi-family projects 
  • Project Management education an asset  

 

 

Salary Range:

$100,000-$140,000
