CCS is seeking a Network Engineer to join our Professional Services Team and support the delivery of a variety of network-based projects for clients throughout the Tri-State Area and other client locations as needed.

The Network Engineer will work collaboratively with Professional Services team members, senior engineers, project managers, and clients to implement, configure, troubleshoot, and support network solutions. This role is well suited for a networking professional who has a strong technical foundation and is looking to expand their experience across a variety of networking technologies and client environments.

Primary responsibilities will include assisting with and performing network installations, configurations, upgrades, troubleshooting, documentation, and project implementation activities. The Network Engineer will work with technologies including switching, routing, wireless, firewalls, and other network infrastructure while continuing to develop technical expertise and the ability to independently manage increasingly complex assignments.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a project team.

Salary: $95,000-$115,000

What You'll Do:

  • Maintain and continue to develop knowledge of current networking technologies, products, and industry best practices.
  • Configure, deploy, troubleshoot, and support network infrastructure including switching, routing, wireless, firewall, and related technologies.
  • Follow established technical standards, configuration guidelines, documentation requirements, and project methodologies.
  • Participate in the implementation and delivery of network infrastructure projects under the guidance of senior engineers and project leadership when appropriate.
  • Perform assigned project tasks efficiently and communicate progress, challenges, and potential risks to project leadership and team members.
  • Assist with network assessments, solution design activities, documentation, and the development of bills of materials.
  • Participate in on-site walk-throughs, wireless site surveys, network installations, upgrades, and project discovery activities.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues and escalate complex issues when necessary.
  • Create and maintain accurate technical documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, implementation notes, and project-related documentation.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to clients, peers, and other teams within the Custom Computer Specialists organization.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and other technical team members to develop technical knowledge and expand experience across multiple networking technologies and platforms.
  • Maintain professional and positive relationships with clients through effective communication, responsiveness, and quality service.
  • Participate in after-hours and weekend project activities when required to support client implementations.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

What You Bring:

  • Preferred 2–5 years of experience working in a networking, IT infrastructure, or related technical role.
  • CCNA certification or equivalent networking certification is preferred. Candidates actively working toward certification will also be considered.
  • Foundational understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, switching, routing, VLANs, wireless networking, DNS, DHCP, and basic firewall concepts.
  • Experience configuring, supporting, or troubleshooting network technologies is preferred.
  • Exposure to one or more networking platforms or vendors such as Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Extreme, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or similar technologies is preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot common network connectivity, performance, and configuration issues.
  • Understanding basic cybersecurity concepts and networking best practices.
  • Ability to follow established network designs, standards, implementation procedures, and documentation requirements.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical individuals.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple assigned tasks.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to seek assistance when working with unfamiliar or complex technologies.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate technical work and documentation.
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to provide professional and responsive client support.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a technical project team.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with the willingness and ability to travel to support clients throughout the five boroughs and Tri-State Area.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. independently.
  • Ability to perform on-site installations and provide support during normal business hours.
  • Willingness to provide occasional after-hours or weekend support for scheduled project implementations and client needs.
