About the Role

We are looking for someone to take ownership of database administration within enterprise environments, with PostgreSQL as the primary technology. The role will involve designing, managing, and optimizing production databases, ensuring performance, reliability, and security for one of our clients based in Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and monitor production PostgreSQL databases
  • Optimize performance, ensure availability, and manage recovery processes
  • Design and implement advanced SQL queries and procedures
  • Troubleshoot issues and support incident management for critical systems
  • Contribute to tuning, capacity planning, and ongoing database improvements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field preferred; diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in enterprise or production infrastructure
  • Strong expertise in PostgreSQL and advanced SQL
  • Proficiency in Linux administration, with scripting skills in Bash or Python
  • Experience with replication, high availability, backup, recovery, and performance tuning
  • Skilled in monitoring and logging for database environments
  • Background in hybrid cloud setups, production troubleshooting, and incident management
  • Proven ability to support high‑availability, business‑critical systems
  • Strong English communication skills for effective collaboration
  • Experience with other enterprise databases (Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle) is an advantage
