We are looking for an experienced Java Tech Lead with strong expertise in Java, J2EE, and jQuery to lead the design, development, enhancement, and maintenance of scalable enterprise applications. The role combines hands-on software development with technical leadership, architecture, code quality, and team guidance.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of enterprise Java technologies and the ability to translate business requirements into robust, maintainable, and high-performance solutions. You will work closely with product, engineering, QA, and other stakeholders while providing technical direction throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, testing, and maintenance of enterprise applications using Java and J2EE.
- Provide technical leadership and hands-on development support across complex software projects.
- Translate functional and technical requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions.
- Design and develop backend services, business logic, APIs, integrations, and reusable application components.
- Apply strong understanding of J2EE architecture, enterprise application development, object-oriented programming, and design patterns.
- Develop and maintain web application functionality using jQuery, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Integrate frontend components with Java-based backend services and APIs.
- Participate in technical architecture, low-level design, solution design, and technology discussions.
- Review source code and ensure adherence to coding standards, design principles, security practices, and engineering best practices.
- Mentor and guide junior and mid-level developers through technical discussions, code reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Identify performance bottlenecks and optimize application performance, scalability, and resource utilization.
- Troubleshoot complex application issues and perform detailed root-cause analysis.
- Develop unit and integration tests and promote effective testing practices across the development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with QA, Product, DevOps, Business Analysts, and other stakeholders to deliver features and releases successfully.
- Support application deployment, production releases, monitoring, and issue resolution.
- Identify opportunities for refactoring, automation, modernization, and reduction of technical debt.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and implementation guidelines.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, estimation, sprint planning, technical reviews, and delivery discussions.
- Stay current with evolving Java, J2EE, web development, and enterprise software engineering practices.
What Makes You a Great Fit
- 8+ years of professional software development experience with strong hands-on expertise in Java.
- Proven experience working as a Java Tech Lead, Technical Lead, Senior Java Developer, or similar technical leadership role.
- Strong proficiency in Core Java and J2EE technologies and enterprise application development.
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, SOLID principles, and software architecture.
- Hands-on experience developing enterprise applications, backend services, REST APIs, and system integrations.
- Strong practical experience with jQuery and JavaScript-based web application development.
- Good understanding of frontend and backend integration patterns and web application architecture.
- Experience with relational databases, SQL, data access technologies, and application performance optimization.
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Experience conducting code reviews and establishing coding and development standards.
- Proven ability to mentor developers and provide effective technical guidance.
- Experience working with Agile/Scrum development methodologies and modern software delivery practices.
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, build tools, application servers, and cloud technologies is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of application security, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to balance hands-on development, technical leadership, architecture, and team mentoring.
- Strong ownership mindset with the ability to independently drive technical initiatives from design through production.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
