Full description

The incumbent is a senior member of the Product and Sales Compliance team and will be required to contribute to achieving the Company and Distribution’s strategic plan and annual business plan in a compliance manner.  

Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide compliance advisory support to business stakeholders for day-to-day operations and for new business initiatives.
  • Review product due diligence conducted by business and associated materials, including but not limited to product highlight sheets, policy illustrations, product summary, cover page and relevant materials.
  • Manage new and amended regulations and provide support and advice to business units to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct investigation into non-consumer feedback and whistleblowing cases.
  • Support Head of Product and Sales Compliance in regulatory liaison and management matters, including coordinating responses to regulatory queries and information requests.
  • Prepare Compliance reports and training materials.
  • Maintain Compliance policies and procedures for annual or regular review.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and special projects, and undertake additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree of audit, finance or business relevance or higher with at least 10 years of compliance experience in similar capacity in the financial industry, preferably within a life insurance or banking environment.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Insurance Act, Financial Advisers Act, other relevant MAS regulations and LIA MU / MC.
  • Strong understanding of life insurance, financial advisory environment and business needs and able to provide solutions to support business stakeholders.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate, articulate and summarize clearly to non-technical audiences on Compliance considerations and issues.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous and detail oriented.
  • Strong ethical compass.
  • Good strategic and critical thinking skills.
